Any short time hotel near LA Cafe? I have see a Victoria Motel in Pasay..anything nearer?
I have used Amazonia many times. Rates are 400 to 600P. When you leave LA Café, turn left and go one block, Amazonia is on the right. I pay for the room and turn on the air conditioning and go back downstairs for another drink with the girl. The rooms are very hot and bring your own condoms, they charge 100P each.
I booked on the Internet - weekly rate P2800/night (not including breakfast) for a one bedroom suite. Daily rate would be P3584 so a substantual saving. Upon arrival at the hotel at 0845 off a redeye, close to full A320 two hour late Cebu Pacific flight ex Jakarta, my room was ready. Bellboy commented that they were only at 30 per cent occupancy but said as Christmas approached, occupancy would rise. The fittings in the one bedroom suite were first class. Two televisions - one in lounge, one in bedroom, and ditto for aircon, though the one in the lounge area was modern and noiseless; the one in the bedroom was noisy. Excellent storage space with a proper built in wardrobe in the bedroom and a large entertainment unit in the lounge. Two chairs and a round breakfast table as well as one two person sofa and one lounge chair completed the loungeroom while the bedroom had a queen and a single bed, and a rectangular, well lit table with chair. While the bathroom was a bit poky, it was adequate. Extensive room service menu available. Brekky available for P275 extra but I preferred to walk 300 metres to Robinsons Place Mall, Ermita and avail there. Free newspaper all day. A horribly confused rooster who crew for 10 minutes each morning between 0030 and 0130 instead of at dawn, and construction work at a building site along A. Mabini St using an archaic steam-driven pile-driver were the only annoyances. I will certainly stay here again, and yes, GF.

I will be spending a couple days in Manila, and will be staying at the Hyatt. I understand that the Hyatt is GF - is that correct? Where is the best and closest place to monger?
If you can pass for a local, ride the local transit, and are a hobbiest you can’t help but notice that signs for GRO’s wanted (Guest Relation Officer: an official job title that requires periodic health check ups) seem to abound in all kinds of places. I’ve always been curious of those small KTV (karoke places) that clearly cater to locals but I’ve been wary to check them out because I know I will have to fess up to being a Balikbayan (Someone of Filipino decent but living abroud and are just visiting). I’ll bite the bullet on this eventually and give you guys a heads up.
When I am up to it I just drop all pretense and come across as a gregarious American who happens to be Filipino. This actually always seems to work in my favor but sometimes you should just be wary. Plus I am sure it changes how they feel they can charge me.
Anyway I have also always wondered about who uses those hourly rate hotels in Quiapo (and other places). I know there are a number of girlie bars on Quezon Blvd [Manila] and Rizal Ave. but I figured there must be street walkers as well. BTW, I do not recommend that anyone who does not look like a local try what I did. I was a street kid from a major American city and even my spidersense was ringing the entire time on a few streets.
I was walking the area near Isetan Mall where the LRT and MRT run (Claro M. Recto Ave, Quezon Blvd, and Rizal Ave.) I saw a few scary ass Shabu/glue fiends who I would not fuck with someone elses dick. Then as I was about to give up, I saw one of those thin cute, morena girls who asked, “Gusto mo Gimick. (do you want a date/do something) To which I replied “Oo, magkano yan?” (Yes, how much). To my shock she said “400 lang”. So I said OK. I saw her on Rizal Ave. about 150 meters south of Recto.
Immediately she started to walk fast and I followed. The entire time I was thinking “is this a good idea” all the while I start to look around to see if I was being followed. Instinctively I grabbed a pen so I was ready to use it as a weapon if need be. She was walking so fast I had to rush to keep up but she did at least always look back to see if I was following.
I think she led me up Soler St. and then left into some alley. About 25 meters in she went into a lit door way. It was a stair way that… how do I put this. .. it looked like it was built to third world standards for little people. But it was clean and I still felt like I could cover my ass. Finally at the top of the stairs I could hear a TV and there were children watching it and then there was an old lady at a desk with an alter to the Virgin Mary behind her. It was very surreal. The most surreal part was hearing it was only 125 pesos for an hour.
When we got to the room it was a small cubicle with a plastic covered bed. She undressed but kept her T-Shirt on until I agreed to pay 500 instead of 400. She ended up being a dead fish with a bad attitude. I did learn a new word though. She was so not into it I went soft to which she would wine “Pasok” (enter), “pasok na” (enter already ).
She did no fore play and when I brought this up she said “my husband is in the next room will get mad if I do anything else”. At this point in retrospect I can see that only the little head was thinking. Bottom line I ended up giving her a total of P1200 for the worse fuck of my life. I did get a sense of what to locals do for paid sex and that was at least interesting.
The lesson I learned was “adventures are fun, be clear of what you want and ask for it (kinda hard with the language issues at times), don’t be a cheap fuck, and most importantly if it don't feel right walk away".

Great post Amboy. I am not trying to start a flame war. 400 for a girl in a scary part of town. Hmmm. Yes, I know this is a Manila thread and I’m a bit of a Makati chap.
You can take a semi pro home from Greenbelt for 500 for cab fare. One of my favorite tricks is this. At my business I am on the phone with the U. S. Almost all night. I get off work at 6 AM. So I head up to Burgos. The girls are getting out of some places. There is this mini-van that drives about 20 of them home up on Kalayan by the burned out club. They will walk by you and ask you to take them home – their alternative is sleeping all day in the dorm and making no money. 500 ain’t that bad. I like picking them up in pairs.
Or. Hit the walkers North of Matrix. If they claim 1000 or 1500 say. It’s 6:30 AM. What are your choices. It’s me or no money. Of course be a bit nicer. I always play the – golly I wasn’t looking but if you’re up for it. I mean I had two girls not want to travel to Cavite so they offered me 800 for both (too bad my wife was back at our apartment – so not a move I could make).
I’m not saying I pay 500 every time for Makati but 1000 is pretty normal and 1500 I gotta have a reason. There are girls who know me who like me. We have fun. We talk. I buy them food, etc. Simple stuff. They’d rather get in off the street for less to hang with you a nice guy then take their chances.
Another trick is hit the massage parlors (Pheonix, Imperial, etc.). A lot of those girls have to go 2+ hors home. I had one who would just stay with me instead of taking a cab home. Why spend 200 on a cab when you have a semi-boyfriend, a warm shower (remember most homes don’t have hot water) and you’re two blocks from work.

Pumpkinko thanks for your tips. I have also seen the women leave Maligaya when it closes but have not approached them yet. I'll test out your technique. Also where is the Matrix - what city and streets?
Thanks

Matrix is on P. Burgos across from the 88 Internet Cafe and of course -- a 7-11... Told you I was a Makati guy not Manila.
The whole thing is common sense... Go to Greenbelt. At the entrence to green belt 3 there will be a girl standing there (sometimes) -- ask if she wants to go for a walk. or the park area near green belt 3. Or walk along the the ground level outside greenbelt 3. Look for girl/girls on benches that are not rich girls shopping. Just normal types without 30 shopping bags. or along the fountain near Havana/Star Bucks. Avoid Star Bucks. They are there but the smoke will kill you. Not a judgement. I avoid bars b/c I cannot stand the smoke (or the cost.)
Or the bar in the Shangrala (expensive girls and a lot of older girls but some just wanting boyfriends) or Hard Rock (if you can tolerate smoking -- tend to be older types so I avoid).
Or walk up Makati. Intersection with Paseo de Roxas has working girls. These seem to be on the low end. and one corner has lady boys.

Living in Manila, I have established a few places to go. There must be a few I am missing. Actually with a population of 16 million there gotta be LOTS of other places. Anyone got anything else besides what I have listed below?
(1) Burgos: Lots of clubs but expensive. Rather moribund with the exception of Flamingo, Montana and a few others. Seems like its gone into depression. There aren't so many new girls coming through as a consequence. They shot themselves in the foot by raising the bar fine to P3500.
(2) LA Cafe, Amazonia, etc: Mayor Lim cracked down in Malate. The only thing really happening is LA Cafe. The girls are not tested and its damn smoky. Some people rave about it. Its definitely not my cup a tea.
(3) EDSA Entertainment Complex: Cheap, lots of girls, lots of fun.
(4) Airforce One: Fishbowl. Played out.
What else??? I have heard about Quezon City and Pasig. Are they just overpriced fishbowls? Where do the Filipinos go? Also I noticed lots of Japanese places near Greenbelt. Are these worth going too?
Pointers appreciated!
Stay away from Burgos. All those bars are owned by the same owners, about 2-3 of them. When they raise the prices on the drinks and bar fine, they all do it together. Greed is killing them now. Before, Burgos used to be a happening place, now it's a ghost town. When you buy a drink for a girl, it's 350pesos? ($8) Philippines is still a 3rd world country! You can go to Malate or EDSA and the barfine is only 1000 pesos (instead of 3500 at Burgos) and the girls are much friendlier, prettier, nicer, etc. Plus, I hate being mobbed by the girls at Burgos, pressuring me for drinks and the mamasans coming by every three minutes to buy more drinks.
Contrary to popular belief, the not all girls on Burgos are tested and clean. I know this because we have dated a few girls. Especially at Flamingo, girls there are known to have STD's and use shabu.
If you've been to Burgos, you will notice that most of the bars kind of look and feel the same. It's because all of them are owned by the same owners.
As my name suggests, am 100% completely pinoy.
Sad as it may be, I hope our foreign friends and you too, don't risk going to Quiapo and the Isetann place you went to again. Lot's of scammers there.
Even us Filipinos c\can get duped in the place that you went too.
Good thing, they didn't trick you there.
Happy hunting

Looks like trouble in Manila?
Have had a evening at both places, and in my eyes EDSA is the winner. Some detailed words.
Burgos:
Burgos Street in Makati has a big number of different Go Go Bars, maybe arround 20, I did not count. Outside there are a few freelancers, but also a lot of Ladyboys. There are 2 bars GoGo-Free, so you can sit there and watch the scene, but its not really spectaculas.
Inside the Bars the beer was arround 100, a ladydrink 350. If you come inside, you are attached by minimum half a douzend of girls. I do not like that. I prefer first to sit down, look arround a while and choose from the menue. If 5 more or less cutties are standing in front of you, starting the "where-do-you-come-from-session", I feel always like I can miss the best. Also the mamasans are very offensive, and start to ask very early whom you want to bye a ladydrink. Bar fine is 3500, but there is a chance to catch phone numbers if the mamasan and the other gils do not look for a moment. Anyway: if you love bar-hopping, its a good place, cause you have more optons as in:
EDSA
EDSA entertainement complex is across heritage hotel. There are 7 bars inside, some with half a dozend of ladies, others with more then 50. I felt much more compfortable here, cause you could walk in and have a seat and a drink without being hasseld. But its funny: if a korean or japanese will enter, the girls are much more active. Beer is 110, softdrinks 77 and ladydrinks 185. If you want to take a lady out, they said a minimum of 2 ladydrinks is requiered. Bar fine is 1000, 2500 for short time (3 hours), I have forgotten long-time-rate. Girls seems to be more beautiful in here, but thats a question of taste, everybody has to see for its own. Opening Hours are 7pm to 3 am. Taxi from Ermita (Bayview Park Hotel) was 80 peso.
