At lot depends on you.
Hello There Fellos ISG members.
Its been about 2 years since I've been in Sosua, only because my buddies and I have been traveling a lot to Asia, Costa Rica, and other places. I really enjoyed Sosua last time I was there. I am wondering if a couple of guys here that have been on the ground recently can assist us with the questions below so we can decide if things have not changed much. My boys and I want to go this fall, but they are somewhat apprehensive hearing about the early closures, chica raids, and rumors about club closures.
1) How do the early closures at 12 am change the scene for people such as myself that are used to staying out later? I know Friday and Saturdays are not impacted by this, but Tuesday through Thursday are. Are the clubs like Clasicos starting earlier during these days to adjust and people going earlier, like 9 pm or is it dead Mon through Thurs. ?
2) Want to make sure Rumba's is open still, yes or no? Are Rumbas, Clasicos, and Bourbon Street still the top places as of recent?
3) How is the casino after hours scene for the girls in terms of quality and is it a cool place to hang out or not? I remember it mediocre last time?
I did read all of the recent posts and stay on top of the posts here, but there still does not seem to be a lot of opinions and recent intel regarding the above. The posts by Turgid and Adinga implied doom is on the horizon in Sousa and were not too favorable. A couple of others stated that not much has changed. So thanks, your responses are greatly appreciated. We want to really make sure we are making the right decision or should we wait til things cool off and return to normal ?
IMO in order to fine tune helping you, one might need more feedback from you. Rather than guessing of what may motivate you.
You had a good time last year. How so? Doing what? What made it a good time for you, and what do you think you need to happen to duplicate that good time? If everything you were accustomed to last visit were closed, and only the chicas were present, could you still have a good time?
My point is, nobody here knows what motivates you and your buddies. It could be a combination of things with various degrees. Some more important than others. Nobody knows the combination of things you guys may need in place in order for you to be content. You have to supply that information. You may mis interpret or misapply the feedback you get, and how it may impact your trip.
For guys like myself (if you've been reading) we don't need any of the clubs or discos in order to have a good time, or to pursue the ultimate goal, which is smashing chicas. So far, I have not seen or heard of any mongers smashing chicas inside the disco or club. Most of that happens in ones hotel or apartment. The P4P chicas can be approached everywhere outside of the clubs / discos. All a guy has to do is just look. Music and alcohol can be enjoyed in ones hotel / apartment. Guys can meet chicas during the day just walking around.
So my point is, it would be more helpful to know exactly what it is you want / expect in order for you to feel fulfilled in your trip? And what would stop you from enjoying it? Why would a bar, club, disco closed early prevent you from adapting, and still have a good time?
You mentioned chica raids? In Sosua, what's happening is that chicas are specifically, and randomly getting arrested andf escorted to jail. Then after they post a fine, they are free to go. If they can't pay, I believe they stay over night. None of this going on should be taken to mean that chicas are swept away never to be seen again. Quite the contrary. Every single one of them are back on the strip at least the next day, if not within the hour. There are many chicas the police totally ignore and don't bother.
Its just an appearance game. Its real for those chicas who had to part with any pesos to get out. But it's not a game ending experience. In fact many chicas may actually enjoy the challenge. Because many of them are laughing and smiling when the police come around, and they start running. Its comical. So please do not sweat all of the rumors and distortions and assume more than what's going on. Chicas being chased aint that serious. Understand this. Chicas accompanied by a male escort are usually not bothered. Although I have seen chicas snatched up trying to pretend they were with a guy standing nearby.
Chicas sitting inside the bars and restaurants are not bothered. Its the ones patrolling the sidewalk back and forth like extras in a movie that are mostly targeted. Or chicas trying to walk alone or with other deer in headlights looking chicas around the blocks looking for work. Chicas that look new to the scene, are easily spotted and picked up. 6 months later they will be veteran sprinters or left alone because the cops know them. If they are Haitianas, they can for get it. They may be always a target by police.
Some chicas have elected to try their luck going to other places nearby for work. Cabarete, Puerto Plata etc. And still come back to Sosua.
So if you and your friends mindset has been clouded with the idea that you guys can't have a good time in Sosua unless places like Classico and Rumba is open, and can't deal with chicas being chased on a nightly basis, then I really don't know what anybody can offer to help you see differently? Your trip may be doomed just from bad intel and assumptions.

I even hear folks party harder on the eve of Doom.
I'll be there soon but friends tell me that it is still rocking.
Classico is still busy enough during the week, and actually packed like sardines at the weekend, and this is supposed to be the slow season. The street is still alive with chicas and the other bars are busier than usual.
Rumba and Latins are still closed, but work is going on at both and it looks like they will be reopening, albeit in a new not so much in your face format. City Lights has been refurbished as a party spot and has good potential.
There's the beach for some daytime action.
After hours during the week some action moves to the Casino, but I wouldn't worry about you and you buddies dance cards not being filled up for the whole week.
The sporadic chica roundup is not a concern. Prostitution is legal, so it's more like pest control, and the cops don't harass mongers.
Something for everybody. Your problems will be deciding on repeats, or trying out new stuff, and at least one of you will be falling in lust. Drag him away and convince him it's not love!
Business will be picking up even more by the time you get there, and it should be a little cooler!
Enjoy!

Thanks for the response and you bring up some good points, its difficult to know exactly if we will like it as its subjective based on our likes and I get it because some guys like vanilla ice cream, others like chocolate, etc. What we liked about Sosua was the following: girls were curvy and were more exotic or different types shall we say (mulata, dark, mixed with few lighter ones), we liked that a lot. Also liked the value of the girls in most cases, can get long time for reasonable prices, compared to other popular mongering destinations. We definitely liked how everything is very central around the strip (Pedro Clisante) , and so condensed. Loved the beach aspect of the city vs. the big city feel. But, I do want to say that we do like the ability to go out later and go to discos or bars, and stay out later as we are on Vacation and don't see each much back home; hence that is why I asked if the casino was good for after hours. Based on the responses you and the Oak Man posted above it does seem that we will have to adapt and go out earlier. I understand you can have chicks in the room, go to restaurants, etc. but I am not convinced for guys under 40 in a group ,on vacation, etc, that its not the same fun as hanging in groups in a club, listening to music, drinking, etc. Again, thats only my opinion and I respect yours. The main fact that it closes earlier but the places are still jumping early during the week makes us says " yes we want to go. " Thanks for addressing the girl issue, this is no longer a concern of ours. I will report in the near future on the Sue when we go and looking forward to a fall trip.

IMHO Sosua is changing. I returned 3 weeks ago.
Its no longer point and click P4P and if some people feel it is then its hardcore P4P.
The strip has been reduced to a 200 foot area which has about 6 bars where the girls hang out plus the cops are getting more aggressive.
Its almost exactly what Castro did 14 years ago when police began arresting the working girls on the street which then forced them into the high end discos where prices increased dramatically.
The demographics are also changing as many of the old school Canadians and Germans are leaving. Its now mostly African Americans.
IMHO Sosua is changing. I returned 3 weeks ago.
Its no longer point and click P4P and if some people feel it is then its hardcore P4P.
Can you give examples of what you mean so me and others could get a better understanding of your POV. Exactly what is point and click to you? And examples of Hardcore p4 p?
My understanding of what point and click means, is that a guy approaches a chica he's interested in, makes an offer for her to go with him, and she goes. So if that is point and click to you as well, why do you say it's no longer the case? Or please clarify what P & C means to you? I think whether it's hardcore, girl friend experience or sport fucking arrangements, it's still point and click. As long as a guy has money and is willing to pay, in most cases a chica is not going to say no. And I still see chicas going with guys that anyone would say are not appealing. Fat, ugly, poor grooming, aged etc. Something else should be taken into consideration. Chicas themselves can have standards or concerns too in terms of who they want to fuck. Just because a guy has money and the chica needs money, that doesnt mean he gets to fuck any chica because of that. A chicas standards and interests of who she chooses to fuck, can be just as varied as us mongers. For instance, Ive observed chicas that were seen mostly with white guys or mostly with black guys. Others who behaved differently depending on the age of the guy. Not to mention, how chemistry and compatibility can play a role in each others company.
As far as hardcore is concerned, I do believe a lot of chicas are more hardcore (assuming it includes but not limited to: being all about business, no GFE, watching the clock, rushing to get back to the street club / bar, more apt to steal, non personable and indifferent towards their clients, loud and aggressive, smoking, drinking bottles of beer in public, on patrol walking around looking for clients). If that describes some of what you see, then I would have to agree. There is a significant increase in that type of behavior.
Many of the nicer chicas that offered GFE, unrushed service over the years got snatched up by gringos that decided they wanted to take them off the street. Western Unionized them with regular payments so the chicas could support their families could stay put in their city. Then when the guy comes to the DR, he goes straight to her city for his vacation, instead of meeting her in Sosua. Or those chicas moved on to other p4 p endeavors in other cities or countries. Still we see more chicas driving cars, indicative of some grngo buying the car, and supporting them. But yet still feel the need to hustle in Sosua. Or perhaps they burned their bridge or totally fleeced their former benefactor?
What we have left in places like Sosua are mutants. They look like females, sort of act like females, can dress sexy enough to appear female. But for some reason there is something missing. They are another generation of individuals with zero to very little home training. And definitely many lacking education, and social skills. More and more of these chicas have chulos lurking around in Sosua, not just back in their cities. The chica network is strong. Many chicas can be seen teaming up with other chicas. And now are demanding and expecting more from potential clients. To an extend it kinda makes sense. Can we expect ST to stay at 1500 pesos and TLN to stay at 2500 to 3000 forever?
We got to know, that most of the male hustlers are in on it too. We got to know that these muggs are telling these chicas to get more out of us? For example, I think Lionel the Rosetta Stone guy is a double agent. He acts like a friend to guys that don't know any better or just don't care if hes telling chicas about everything we say and do. IMO, it's hustlers and individuals like that, as well as loose lipped mongers telling hustlers everything, and "I don't give a fuck how much I'm paying, I'm on vacation, it's my fucking money" mongers, these are the ones greatly contributing to what we have today. BTW I don't think the guys at the German restaurant, feeding those chicas (mostly Haitianas) free meals and beverages every day , are helping the situation.
So that's mostly what guys have to deal with from now on. Sprinkled about there may be some gems among the muck. And after a while in the game, they too may be corrupted by the rest of the barracudas. Like an inmate in jail, or a rooky cop among vets. In order to fit in, they follow what others are doing. Still even under the current conditions, some individuals are able to adapt and manage a decent mongering lifestyle while fishing in infested waters. Expats are afforded more time to explore the "waters" as well as seek out other options nearby. Smart and / or dilligent vacationers can do likewise. However enough guys are not willing to go through all of that. They want the convenience, and quality ( relatively speaking ) back to the way they remembered it. If they can't have it, they become disenchanted and have to call it quits.
Personally, I want to see how things evolve after awhile. Is it possible that the changes to come may lead to a change in chica behavior for the better? Or will it get increasingly worse? How about the mongers we have coming on the regular? Will more interest in GFE or quality rather than quantity hookups come back?

Has it really changed?

I visited Sosua two weeks ago. It was more subdued than I remember from my trip in December of last year. Is it due to the crackdown or is it due to seasonal nature of tourism?
I've read many different opinions about the demise of Sosua. I'm a point and click monger, who prefers to pay low prices, and I don't believe in attaching strings to hookers, and yet I still shy away from women with hardcore traits. I've only been visiting Sosua since 2013, and it had a high percentage of prossies with hardcore traits even then, that's not new. The prices haven't risen. Many of my dates asked for higher prices, I paid them the same as always. The point and click aspect is the same as always. I flew into POP, checked into my hotel, went out on Pedro Clisante, and brought a girl back to my room. This wouldn't have been so easy in Rio or Medellin, but it's comparable to Pattaya Beach.

?
Earlier through whatsapp I tried to negotiate a price with a Chica. She asked for 3000 pesos and I countered with 1500 pesos. After a minute or so she called me a mamaguevo. I don't understand?

For me the value of a mongering destination is tied to the numbers of chicas available. Give me enough chicas, and no legal proscription against mongers, and I'll be happy to spend a few days navigating the scene and keeping an eye out for the newer and fresher chicas. Pattaya sounds good to me too, but too far away!
Numbers ensure some incentive and competion for your dollars.
As long as folks are reporting numbers like 12 to 1 in places like Classico, I'll take those odds, anytime. They say there are 35 new uniformed servers at the new City Lights!
To me Sosua will only be over only if they ever manage to chase out most of the putas.
Nobody wants to have to work too hard for P4 P, and we don't all be wanting to chase the same 5 putas :)

You are as funny as Boricua, always understandably English! By the way, I love "maury cone" - a term of endearment derived from Maricon!
To others, yes "mama" (suck) and "guebo" (dick) does refer to probably not something very polite but as Parkinsons notes, you never know with women, it could have been a term of endearment, jajaja!

Mr. Cone!
I've been called that by this pair of mafioso hags that operate in the late hours on Calle Dr. Rosen (where Terra Linda and NG are located) who prey on solitary mongers returning to their rooms.
They will approach you, and by all accounts, distract you by grabbing hold of your family jewels and tag team a heist of your valuables.
The only time they tried to pull that on me, I forcefully knocked their arms away and secured my getaway only to be met with a shout out to Mr. Cone!
This shit gets hilarious sometimes!
