i, for one, am happy that they have that little police booth right outside of the ldv fork, despite being stopped. there's an alley just past there, and sometimes there are some characters in that spot that give me the eye. laguito is an obvious target spot for tourists, colombiano, italiano, israeli o gringo (though i hear that the israeli dudes can handle things on their own). walking around laguito late a night to and from ldv or in bocagrande, i've always felt for the most part safe, but keep my eyes open. and any newcomer reading this should not be lulled into a total sense of security, just be street smart. never seen a search during the daytime. it's probably common knowledge that some of the chicas in ldv like the polvo blanco.
one thing i've learned about laguito (or suramerica cities in general) is that they are a lot smaller than you think. the rumor mill approaches the speed of light, i swear. and people are watching you from the condos high above when you walk down the street in laguito and probably they put up with the wild life at perla and ldv but don't want to see ostentatious behavior or obvious puta or john activity. for some, it's their home base, their 'hood, and you're a visitor there.
note that after the routine stop of my ldv date and me, i performed my own cavity search of my chica and found nothing suspicious!

one time an engine almost fell off my avianca flight, all passengers got put up in hotel caribe for the night. the room was disgusting, so i opted not to call my girl, i just knocked out till flight time.
upon landing, several angry emails, vm's awaited me. despite not leaving the hotel, apparently i'd been spotted by an off-duty ldv chick.

Thanks[/QUOTE]My novia has been waiting over a year and a half for hers. They do issue a contraseña within a few days of application. The contraseña is only a flimsy temporary ID and cannot be used as legal identification. However, I have never heard of a hotel not accepting a contraseña.
Anyone ever stay in the cartagena plaza club hotel? I need to know how far it is from laguito, walking and by cab. And how are the rooms? and most importantly are they chica friendly?

the reason i stopped traveling to cartegena was because of the touts and the police harassment. my first few trips to cartegena were great. then the police harrassment started about my 4th trip. it began at the airport being searched and having to empty my pockets and having my money counted and asked a thousand questions about why i was there. they did not understand i was there to fuck young colombianas and was not doing some kind of "other" business. then it seemed every taxi i got into would get stopped by policia. a few times i just forked over 10k pesos but even then it pissed me off. the locals started to look at me different after a few visits. they all seemed to get less friendly once i began to know the area and did not overpay for everything
and the kids and steeet vendors got worse instead of better. i could not walk down the street without being molested by some little dirty kid. and it was nearly impossible to enjoy the beach because of the vendors trying to sell me everything from rotten looking clams to t-shirts to cheap sunglasses or coco butter
i decided that colmbian pussy was fantastic but it was just not worth the hassle. and besides after a guy goes to cartegena a few times he can see all the touristy stuff after a few trips
there are too many other places cheap pussy can be found without all the hassle.
and from reading these boards it looks like the americans have spoiled the colombianas paying $100 us dollars for an hour of pussy. when i was there a $100 dollars would get a guy a entire week of pussy. and this was only 5 years ago
it seems to me the only thing that has changed in cartegena is the price of pussy.
but the power of colombiana pussy strong. i will most likely book a flight to cartegena forgetting everything i just posted.

Cra 1 (aka Santander Ave) No.6-154, It is #149H on map.
Santander Ave is the main road that runs parallel to the Caribbean side of Bocagrande from the Historic Centro to its end @ El Laguito.
From the CPC Hotel, which faces the Caribbean, to the LTV Club at the top of El Laguito is about 4/10 mile (2100 feet).
A 10-minute walk. I have never stayed there so I don’t know their chica policy or quality of rooms. But, the better option is to rent an apartment directly on El Laguito’s main road: Avenue Almirante Brion.

however, the situation is going to get far worse if gringos keep succumbing to this crap. personally, i very calmly and very coolly tell colombian law enforcement that i will not pay them off. of course, you have to speak spanish and handle yourself carefully. i give them nothing. zero. nada.

I gotta tell you, a few things has changed since my last visit to Cartagena in 2003. The $ to peso was a lot better than now (1:2800) and the girls seemed to express more lovin. So the whole week I visited LDV like clockwork. This isn’t Bogota, where you can pick up girls anytime of the day. Cartagena girls are found in the evenings and nights. At least from my experience. Now in ’03, barebacking wasn’t really an issue, now, I gotta pay extra for it. Not only that, girls want 150k to go back to your place. My strategy, pick someone you’re really into. Then keep seeing her so the price goes down. Kinda like being brand loyal.
