The simple fact is that there are girls in Jakarta who don't feel comfortable going with Bules. Places that cater mostly to locals will have girls like that. Many times they are scared that bule's penises are too big or that they won't be able to communicate due to the language barrier.

Tiny, as I said I have also faced this discrimination, if one can call it as such, at both Bintang Mawar as well as Alexis, where I am a frequent visitor. I know that I am not given a free choice at the latter, as the Mamasan calls only those girls who will go with a non-Indonesian to line up. The main reason I don't use a card now is that the card companies have got so risk-averse they often block cards if there is an "irregular spending pattern". They blocked mine a year or so ago when I check-in at Le Meridien - where I've been going 5 or 6 times a year for 15 years. Once blocked it's a pain in the arse to get them unblocked and can costs a fortune in phone calls. Other benefits are the ones already discussed along with the avoidance of an audit trail should I wish to not declare where I've been.

Credit card company do this to protect the consumer ,I always contact my US credit card company before I travel to asia or South america to let them know I will be using my CC there but for my company CC I never have any problems it have a large limit.

I can understand the caution required in using credit cards because of possible scams and thefts of the numbers and the need not to leave a paper trail. My local credit card company is so cautious that if there is a charge of over $100 they phone and since I am only a supplementary card-holder with my wife as the main holder, obviously using the local credit card would lead to a situation too grim to be imagined. But fortunately, I have an Amex card in my name issued in my home country where I am the sole holder. So I can use it and since the entries are quite cryptic such as GAH Spa, the question of an easily followable paper trail does not arise. Amusingly, the bill that I got from Alexis was for Sashimi! I didn't know that the service provided by a Vietnamese girl enjoyed the same name as as Japanese dish! Lol.

But on the larger issue of card safety, one has to balance out the convenience that a card offers versus the probability of scams and possible theft of the number. By minimizing usage, you may reduce the risk but even so the number can be stolen from the bank computer itself. Thus, this could happen even if you were shopping in the Sogo Foodhall or paying your hotel or buying an airline ticket! Yes, I agree with you that one should not use the card in a small hole-in-the-corner establishment but do feel that using it in Alexis is safe as any other hotel.

Coincidentally, it was unusual for me to find myself in Malioboro on Friday night as this is not my usual scene. However, in the interest of exploring Jakarta further, I sacrificed my comfort level and followed JAD to investigate this establishment. We arrived at 7.45pm and hence had about 15 minutes to wait for the dancing show. When it finally began with 5 or 6 girls (you can tell I was really riveted) dancing in skimpy underwear with an overall lack of real enthusiasm. Not my thing but the guys in the pool could not wait to have them hop into the water with them and blow some money. We then proceeded upstairs where there is a reception area, a TV lounge/theatre behind it, one lounge to the left and one more to the right.

The lounge on the left is for local girls marked as second grade; from what I see, they seem to categorize depending on colour of the skin, skin imperfections, complexion, ability to use make up and possibly ability to socialise and market to the clientele. Pricing here is 350k ST (1 hour) and overnight at 3 tickets (3 X 350k). I assume they also make the lighting and ambience feel a little cheaper since this is clearly economy class here.

The lounge on the right (we’re right in C class here) is brighter with a stage to the right and glass tables for everyone to sit around. The grade I locals are seated to the right in front of the stage (Clearly better grooming and skin). This does not necessarily mean better attitude. Pricing here is 800k ST (1½ hours) with overnight at 2 tickets (2 X 800k). The girls from China, Mongolia(?), Russia, Ukraine and Thailand were seated on the left. The basic rate being 1.5M ST (1½ hours) and overnight at 3 tickets (3 X 1.5M). Some of the Thai girls claim to be models and as such command 1.65M ST and some overnighters being 5 tickets (5 X 1.65M!! Please correct me if I’m wrong here JAD:o). A couple of the Russians/Ukrainians also command the premium of 5 tickets for overnight - they are supposed to be exceptional (but to be honest I didn’t really view them, nor were they identified to me for me to judge).

I tried one of the locals from grade I, and I have to say that even though I "finished", it was hardly the best value for money. The BBBJ was ok and she had a good enough attitude but the GFE was not really there (no FK and no wet pussy, 2nd time I’ve seen lube in Jakarta for pussy use – and I’ve been here regularly since 2003). As an indicator, I can’t remember her name and the service was as forgettable. I did see some absolute stunners in the expensive range of foreigners and might have to invest/raise some funds for the necessary research.

At this point I would like to appeal to the forum for some much needed information; there is an occasional need to have high end corporate entertainment - but where can I source the higher end girls? I have been to Hartono’s before and various spas. However, I’m still at a loss as to where to find classy girls who would fit in with serious GFE. I would appreciate any information in this area.

Had been to this Spa yesterday.

To locate this Spa easily, this is 300 mts from Pasar Baru Timur - TransJKT bus stop. I got stuck in Taxi due to the traffic, by bus, I feel it should be smooth.

Get down at this stop and proceed towards Ancol 300 mts , take a left turn Opp.to Golden Boutique Hotel and the immediate right, you are at Jl. Kartini Raya.

When I went there on Sunday at 4 PM most of the rooms including the VIP ones (only 4) are full and had to wait for 30 minutes to get a VIP room. I utilised that time for Sauna & Steam bath.

Spoke to Dedy and took liberty to say that Bro.Oyenk has referred this Spa to me (thanks to the old posts in this forum).

He chose number 65 for me. Girl was beautiful, 20 years old with long hair and legs, very thin. She gave a good Shiatsu massage followed by scrub.

First off let me apologise for coming back to the thread rather late but I've been out of town all weekend and also let me thank members for their considered replies.

Now just to go on the record I would hate like hell if I was misinterpreted as some sort of arrogant, poke in the chest, "do you know who I am?" type of prick. I'd like to think that anyone who knows me would realise that I am the last person to behave like that. I admit my "more than enough money" remark didn't perhaps come across well but it was meant more in sorrow than in anger, I felt like some "little emperors" in the room were getting better service than me even though my money was every bit as good as theirs and that is what rankled with me.

I must emphasise that I was extremely polite at all times and explained my disappointment to the mama and papa in moderate terms and in my best BI. I am not a tourist and not someone who expects the natives to jump when I crack the whip. Sorry for my late comment, but I respectfully disagree with Aakumu.

From what little I know of Dorman, he is not an arrogant type at all. I took his comments to be more innocent that Aakumu apparently did, Dorman's view was not superiority but rather equality.
