Wili,
You confirm everything I have said.
Its more the two years that I am shifted to Thailand etc. Good hotels, good food, no court or scams and nobody break to my hotel room.
The situation in Kenya is over. They don't want any white tourists anymore, so we are not coming as you saw the lack of tourists yourself. Security and high hotels price is a serious issue to any monger or tourist.
In site one appartment in Mtwapa was stolen 4000 euro. Of course. This mzungu was idiot to stay with this amount of money in his room. He was also busy with 2 girls together.

For this afro girls meetings. You will lose lot of money, for drinks, food, transport. Sex. Very rare. Better to pick up Malayas. Than having sex for your money. There are also lot of afro girls in disco. Daythime for real love, after 10pm. Pay sex.

You know I really can't speak to MBA, but I just had great couple weeks in NBO, and much depends on the man. Its the same principle the world over.
Get off the couch, stop thinking the world owes you, get in shape, get some decent clothes, go after quality women (or quality wh*res) once in awhile besides barfly wh*ses, smile and be nice. You might have something more in your experiences besides complaints. I had great sex with some Tagg, Afro, Badoo, pro and non-pro.
How are you losing money? A woman pro or non-pro, is still a woman and the way you treat her comes back double. Food-you don't have to buy steak at New York prices in Kenya. Transport? Don't have your connect come from more than a matatu ride across town distance. I have had them want to come to see me in NBO from Mombasa, ect. Bad idea. Drinks? Worlds best aphrodisiac! If she tries to belt them down just cut her off. You can always say no. Nothing in this life is free. All pros I take still look like and act like ladies, not truck drivers with vaginas.

Security issues
After my visit last week. I want every visitor alert. It's getting dangerous and dangerous to perform your hobby. Everyone is ready to falsely accuse you for offenses not committed, the solid white residents do this for free purchase price of $ 1,000. Even participated in these practices. The road check near Mtwpa is hard to drive past without payment. There may be a difference in height of headlights of your taxi established. Whether more or less tire wear, left and right. I do not think I Kenya still visit. This become really dangerous. There were almost no tourists. It was not raining. Kenya is his grave itself to making. Kahama hotel, high price, poor breakfast. Eating in a restaurant was not eating. Infernal music noise until after 2pm. (google translation)
I am visiting Kenya since 2005 and stayed there an added time of more than 18 months and never I was victim of a violent crime or even was threatened. But I was aware that the general security situation has worsened. The last two years I was not in Kenya, I followed only the news on online newspapers and Forums and crime has really increased.
I suppose Willyboy is explaining the practice to accuse somebody (falsely or not) for a minor offence and the supposed offender is brought to the jail of Kilifi and released upon a bond of KSH. 50000. Or the supposed offender prefers to settle the matter at the Police Station to avoid the jail. I witnessed some situations like this but mostly it involved people that are / were assholes or involved with nasty ugly working girls that screw them. Also it happened that the accusations were true, like ganja possession and abuse. The problem of Kenya is also that civil cases are taken to the police which arrests the accused, so there is a lot of leverage to make pression on the Muzungu especially, but also Kenyans are victims.
Should this practice spread out, than really things turn sour. Willyboy please explain this issue more detailed.
Crime is increasing for sure especially at the South Coast, where armed robbery is rampant. The targets are shops, hotels and businessmen, I. E. Where the cash is. Tourists are not the main target when they do not show off a lot of cash, but are collateral demage as happened to a Swiss tourist as he got incidentally involved in a robbery at a shop last Friday night. He was shot dead and the killers were so cold blooded to steal his handy.
The only time I was victim of a crime was at a Hotel when they opened the simple padlock securing my luggage and they stole part (not all!) of my cash stashed therein. It was a modest sum. In any case 3-digit number locks and simple padlocks are not safe. They have enough time to try all combinations until they open the luggage.

Security Issues
As a matter of fact, the incident where the Swiss guy was killed was a robbery at Diani Campsite.
Like a couple of other similar incidents at the South Coast involving a gang on motobikes.
So it looks like this time they were deliberately targeting tourists.
The Swiss refused to hand out his belongings.
Something I cannot quite understand given the fact they were apparently carrying an AK-47.
Moreover since most modern smart phones/tablets nowadays maybe configured with some tracking/anti theft software...
And since there are plenty of ATM in an around Mombasa that work with foreign Maestro-Cards, I can see no need to stack large amount of cash in your hotel room.

Unknown gunmen shot dead a Swiss national in Kenya's coastal town of Kwale, police said on Saturday.
The police identified the victim as Thomas Edward. 47, who was shot Friday night at a close range at a campsite bar, situated along the beach of the Indian Ocean.
Divisional Police Commander Jack Ekakoro said the assailants stole his mobile phones before escaping. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the gangsters were four and they were using two motorbikes.
"We have launched investigations to establish the cause of his death. We are yet to make any arrest but our officers are hunting down the gangsters. The deceased was in company of other tourists at the bar but he was their only target," Ekakoro told Xinhua by telephone.
The police chief said pathologists will carry out postmortem on the body. A spent bullet cartridge fired from an Ak-47 rifle was found beside his body.
Ekakoro said a combined team of police officers have launched a major operation to crack down on the gang believed to be involved in a series of robbery incidents in the coastal region which threatens the tourism industry.
According to the police, the gang had shot and injured a businessman a few km from where the tourist was killed.
Last week, a mobile money service provider was killed in Ukunda after three men with AK-47 guns arrived at the M-Pesa kiosk on a motorbike.
They walked into the shop which is a few meters from Diani police station, and shot the lady. The gang masqueraded as customers before they confronted the lady.

I'm also refusing to give other people my property; and never ever try to take their property; in Europe or in Africa; what do you expect?

There is some discrepancy between the content of my and your post. I have my information from the Swiss and Kenyan press, which rely on the Kenyan police. Appearently your info is more accurate.

Crime
Well if the swiss guy was dumb enough not to hand over his possessions, too bad. I usually carry maximum 2000 ksh and an old mobile on me, so they can take that. I never argue with somebody who carries an AK 47. Otherwise run as quick as possible. A british guy I know has been mugged 5 times on north coast in the 18 years he stayed there. All it needs is a dark spot for 200 metres on North beach. 2 guys with pangas threatened him. Don't move after dark except by taxi or take a boda boda. Of course its romantic to walk at the beach at night, but not a good idea. I fully agree with the previous posters. If you treat the girl decent, I never had an issue so far. But I am careful at selecting. There is enough choice. I all treat them as ladies. I never discuss money as this disturbes the romantic setting. In the morning I tell them I have business to attend to, escort them to the outer door of my apartment block and hand them over folded 1000 ksh bills, depending on the performance it will be 1000 or 2000. And before they can complain, I lock the Iron Gate and thats it. Bye Bye.
And if you are easily afraid then stay at home.
Neddy.
In love of black bootie

Apartments
Here an extensive list for apartments to hire:
http://www.mtwapalowcostapartments.kbo.co.ke/apartoz
Please note, that I don't have anything to do with it.
I would read these prices as an indication.
It might be very well, that if you go there directly, prices may drop, since in Kenya the usual provision for agents is around 20 percent

Kahama Hotel
Coming to Africa for the first time at the end of February. I will spend my first five nights in Nairobi and then 6 nights in Mombasa.
It appears like Kahama hotel is the best choice for me. I'm looking at the website and I'm confused. I plan to pay for a double so there won't be any issue with the ladies, but they also say the following on the website:
"Extra bed and breakfast per day at 50% room rate"?
Does this mean I will stay have to pay this for my guest?
Any better recommendations are welcomed as well.
Thanks!

Thanks!
You aren't buying an extra bed. She can sleep in your bed. Thus all you need is the double rate assuming she is staying for breakfast.

What are the current rates for a nice girl per night?
I have some questions because my stay will be business related also!
Do some guys of you have seen oldtimers like the Volkswagen T1 in Mombasa? It looks like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ae/Volkswagen_Type_2_T1.jpg
If any of you have seen a car like this, maybe you can PM me or tell me here! Would be great. Or if you know where I can find that kind of a car.
