The room smelled of smoke (prob just the room they gave me and most of the rooms were prob okay). There were no blankets, it was just a sheet but the AC either wasn't working or wasn't working well. I saw a roaches there. On my first day there, I didn't do nearly enough research and just tried to walk around and find some goodies. I was only able to find trans girls and the club I went to close by had like 4's and 5's. I got cheated at the club (paid up front, girl said BBBJ but tried to put a rubber on me). I threw a fit and the club owner got me like half my money back. I went back to the hotel and asked the guy up front where he would go and he sold me a pile of crap about the place next door. Sex was a little below average and with a 5. (cost was like 50 k. The guy up front told me it was common place to tip 50 k just for normal stuff, so I did).

The next day, I went to the other clubs talked about on here and they were a lot better. 50 k (17) for 30 minutes and 50 k for add ONS like BBBJ and BBFS. I negotiate a lot in Tijuana but my Spanish is bad, so if what they ask for isn't super common (talked about in the forum) then I just pay it. I also got a hotel far an 5 min uber ride away. It was 35 or so a night and it was heads and tails better. I had great air con, tv had English channels, WiFi worked in my room, I had a blanket and my bed was comfortable and didn't smell of smoke.

Uber is not technically legal in Colombia. What you want to do is call for an uber ride and sit in the front seat. Act like a friend is picking you up. If you put in your destination for uber you don't need to talk to the drivers. The normal taxi drivers will take you the wrong way for 30 minutes to get more money or sit in one spot while you try to tell them where you want to go for like 15 minutes. I def suggest uber. There are lots of places that have WiFi so you could use WiFi to call for uber, but I'd suggest getting a sim card before you get here or do roaming or something.

I think hotel Botero is great for 20 year old who are on a budget or pros who can get better rooms / treatment but for me, I'd much rather just get a comfortable place and uber around. It's only like 10 or 20 bucks more a night with 2-3 bucks for an uber ride. I'm trying out an AirBnb place on my next trip at the end of the month.

My current price list. Hope it helps. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong as it will save me and possibly others some cash and prevent wreaking the game.

Casas: 50 k or less for 30 minutes. 50 k for add ONS (energy is suppose to be better but more expensive) (I like new life).

Facebook: 150 k to 250 k. I'm not sure if that's per hour or for the whole night. Also not sure what adds on cost (never tried but will try next trip).

Street girls: I heard like 30 k per pop and it's like 20 k for the hotel? (never tried but will try next trip).

Dance clubs: Heard it's all over the place. Some ask for like 300 k+ for an hour and some are like 150 k for the night? (never tried but will try next trip). Apparently gusto nightclub is expensive and the way to negotiate is getting them alone and asking rather than in front of their friends.

Colleges: So this is a new one I just thought up. Might as well go to the source yeah? I'm almost 40 but still look in my early to mid 20's for some reason so I figured I wouldn't look too out of place.

If you are going to be using your phone to translate, I've found the best way is ask / communicate before entering the room and the time starts. Like do you have any specialties, or I like it when girls moan or lick my ear or something. Otherwise you might just get a starfish and "just the tip" refers to her BJ skills.

You are the man. Thanks for all the info and another shout-out to everyone helping me with important details. Can anyone suggest a hotel for non Spanish speaking monger. Should be chica friendly for around 50/ night? These tips are goldmine for those that have never been to Colombia.

Also, can someone shed light on Medellin internet prepagos, like miloeroticos, pasion, etc. Are the ads authentic. How is the service? Some of the websites show ads for 60 k. Is this a flake?

Perhaps I might have better luck in Santa Fe.[/QUOTE]30 minutes is usually fairly strict. However, at New Life you pay after, for however long you spent. They have the price list posted in the waiting area. Most of the other places you pay in advance.

Energy Spa is more expensive. I believe the 1 hour full service session is still 150 k. It's usually worth a visit. They are closed on Sundays and holidays. Best lineup seems to be Friday and Saturday.

If lack of Spanish will cause you problems with street girls in Medellin, it will cause you the same problems in Bogota. Depending on your age and fitness, Bogota might give you some problems. Some people complain about the altitude.

You won't have difficulty in the casas, especially the more popular ones. They all get a lot of tourists who don't speak Spanish.

Hotel Botero has seen better days, according to what some guys have told me. It's convenient to the action, but not exactly luxurious. While you're at M1 I recommend getting another guest to take you and show you around El Centro. Visit a few hotels while you are there and decide before you book.

Go to the Medellin Lists thread on the bottom half of the Colombia forum page. Look for the link to the Medellin map and to the accompanying PDF file which lists all the casa names and addresses. Before you leave your room, write down the address on a piece of paper and hand it to the taxi driver. You don't need the name, because the driver won't know the name.

There's no need to tip the taxi drivers. You'll just confuse them. What I do from time to time is give them the leftover coins. Use your 50 k bills in stores and bigger restaurants in order to get smaller bills. Taxis and smaller restaurants may not be able to make change.

There's also no need to tip at most restaurants. Often you'll see a 10% propina added to the total. This is a voluntary tip. Just pay it. Often the waiter will ask you "esto incluye servicio?" (Does this include the tip?

Restaurants may be difficult for you. Once you are seated a waiter may come and tell you the menu of the day, or bring a menu. They probably won't return, until you flag them down. Once they bring your food, they won't return, until you flag them down. Get used to it.

It works just fine in my iPhone, and yes it is only data. New countries are added all the time, and I assure you Colombia is on the list as this is the exact card I'm using. It has also worked fine in Hong Kong, USA, Canada, and Panama. The link you gave is the one month version of the same product, which I'm sure works fine, but the 12-month version is like having an unlimited world SIM in your pocket for a year. One year 12 GB is $50 data only. Your link, 30 days 12 GB is $30. If you need that much data per month then the $30 is cheaper. If you use about 1 GB / week traveling like I do, then the one year is awesome. I keep a backup handy too, never know when a Europe trip is going to pop up, and $3/ GB is cheaper than just about any local SIM I've ever used.

The surrounding streets and location is filled with restaurants, ATMs, drug stores, grocery stores and quite easy to access anything you need.

Given that said, during night time there will be party going on all over places and loud music as well. Very lively environment and safe. You will hear the music inside your hotel too. Personally I prefer this kind of environment because of my young age and lot of chicas to pick up and ask for date during day and night time. As the chicas here are not regular street girls. It might depend on your looks and language skills. Let me know if you need any more information around this place.

Rooms are around $40 a night and they're definitely chica friendly. I stayed there for week without any problems.

Any and all phones have to be unlocked before you can use a "foreign" SIM. Foreign SIM means a SIM card that was not issued by the service provider (T-Mobile, Vodafone, A&T, Claro, Tigo, etc.) that subsidized the phone. If you travel internationally on a regular basis, an unlocked phone is very helpful.

Noise may be a problem, especially on weekends when the bars are open late. I would expect it to be a very nice hotel. The lobby looks nice. I would not expect it to be chica friendly. There are lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. This is also walking distance to the Estadio metro station.
