Pattaya Reports

Let me explain. 95% of my past trips to Patts where extensions of SEA business trips. Any work trips to Hong Kong or Singapore almost always meant a trip to Patts for a long weekend. I decided to take a trip because my buddy is getting married in the Philippines and I helped him book a detour to Patts. So glad he left after 3 days because he ran out of money and made all the newbie mistakes I warned him against. Also for some reason he could not do the exchange rate. I kept saying just drop the zero and divide by 3.

This is my first time back in about 10 years. I expected rates to change, but was a little surprised that bar fine on Soi 6 was 1500. I found 2 decent beach Road gals for 1500ST. I used to love Soi 7 and Soi 8. Now they are a complete waste of time. Walking street is always fun because of the vibe. Go inside a club or GOGO and the story changes. I saw a few guys in clubs like Miami where the hostesses are very cute, but are not leaving with you. (My buddy found out the hard way after 3 k in lady drinks and 3 hrs of wasted time.) There is no fun for me to spend $100 USD for a cute Thai girl to smile at me and laugh at my jokes and tell me how young I look.

You can't even sit for 1 min without getting the shit bugged out of you to buy something to drink. I know the deal is to get all your money as fast as possible, but there was a lot more chill attitude 10 years ago. Also going rate is 3 k ST plus 1500 BF. You'll likely spend 1500 in drinks and tips. So that's $200 USD total for about 1 HR in your room. Then she'll ask for tips for motor bike taxi. This is not the Patts I remember.

I hear the freelance scene is a little better in places like Lucifer. Problem is I am 53 and 2 am bar hopping is not my scene. So if you are like me. Take a late nap and head out at 1 am for club freelancers. Even the damn soapy let me down. The host stole money from my buddy. Never gave him his change back. Also I don't remember "tiered" pricing before. The enhanced girls who stare at their phone most of the time were 3 K. Plus tip.

Stayed at March Hotel off 2nd Road and Soi 5. Nice hotel but a little far from the action. Basically brand new for 35 USD a night. Each room has dedicated WiFi. Check it out on YouTube.

Overall I had a pretty good time, but for me, not worth paying for the whole trip. Now that I have adjusted to the new price stucture, every gogo felt like OT in Singapore. I have NEVER left Patts disappointed, until now.

I wonder if the internet has created a decline worldwide in P4 P services.

The girls on the 6 are not that good looking and the rooms are shit from memory. For another 600 baht I can get a much better looking girl in Addict Massage Bangkok for an hour. I can get white uni 23 yo girl turning tricks to makes end meet to fuck me for 4,500 baht in Sydney whom I have much more in common with than paying this much for a marginally attractive peasant rice farmer.

So, after taking the night off on Day 2, slept in for a bit on Day 3. I'm having a couple of suits and pants made for me while I'm here so went over to Soi 15/4 for another fitting. Prices were far cheaper than USA But will have to see how the clothing stands up once I finally get it. Then decided that, since I'm here, I had to at least check out a Thai soapie. Took the baht bus over to Sabai Room. Again, a bit overwhelming for someone from the USA But essentially you get ushered into a room with a long bar at one end, tables to sit at, and the girls in two (or three) tiers on the one side. Ordered a drink and went over the selection which appeared pretty decent. Basic tier was 2000 Baht and next tier up was 2400 Baht. The higher priced tier definitely were slimmer and a bit cuter than the first tier. I had read here what to expect so I wanted to select a lady with more assets above the waist. Took #151 and upstairs we went. I won't bore everyone with the details (the services in Pattaya soapies are well documented) but I certainly enjoyed the experience. From my perspective, if you're going to a Pattaya soapie for an awesome sexual encounter, you are looking for nothing but disappointment. If you're going to enjoy the pampering and the experience, it's probably worth the price. I've read Bangkok soapies are an entirely different animal but yet to experience. The real negative part was the manager's attitude and insistence for a tip. I was like, "Tip for what? Standing here?

Anyways, took a nap, met up with a friend for dinner and then went back to Walking Street at about 9:30 pm It was a Sunday so a bit slower than the previous night but still packed. Eventually made my way to Tantra. Grabbed a brew and watched 2 changes in the lineup. Did not like the layout of the club (too cramped) and the girls were not to my liking. I prefer a bit of curve and none of that was to be found. The guy next to me pulled out his phone and started to video the girls on stage. The hostess saw him immediately and slapped the phone away. I decided discretion was the better part of valor and headed for the door before security exited him from the premises.

Stopped into Infinity and again checked out the lineup. I thought it was a bit better than Tantra, but nothing really tickled my fancy. Walked over to Sensations and thought the lineup was poor, compared to the other clubs. Finally, went back over to Sapphire. I will pass along one adage for any newbies. When a Thai gogo dancer says "let's meet up with my friends" after you barfine her, you are in for an expensive and LONG night. I had seen 3-4 girls that met my criteria the night before, but had passed due to over consumption. It was far less crowded on Sunday versus the previous evening. Called over 1 girl for a couple of lady drinks but wasn't feeling a vibe. Saw a stunner from the night before and ordered her a couple of drinks as well. #244 (Ja? Long story short, much better vibe and the look I was going for. 5 K Baht for long-time which is the going rate (I know, everything is negotiable). Barfine and drinks (plus drinking games with the hostesses and mamasan) added up to another 1700 Baht.

Went over to Lucifer and she asked if she could have a couple of girlfriends meet up with us. Sure, no problem, I thought. Then bottle service. Then more drinking games with the friends and their friends. It was a long night. Great fun and since it's my first time here it was kind of nice to have someone show me around, but a bit pricey. I think the bottle cost with all the mixers when it was said and done was like 5000 Baht. Anyways, I'm on vacation. Then we just had to go over to a gogo in LK Metro for another friend's birthday. By now, the girl I'd barfined was hammered and it's time to start feeding water. Then, motorbike over to a restaurant past Soi Boukhao with her friend. They order dinner. Another 1000 Baht. But, again, I'd never have gone there without a local, the food was really good, and I'm paying a premium for the tour guide. Finally ended up back at my place and the alcohol had taken its toll on her. Within 5 minutes she's out.

Day 4-4.5.

Woke up next morning at 9:00 am And she's still out. 12:00 pm Still out. Finally got her up at 3:00 pm Eventually woke her up enough to get Round 1. Looked just as good without the clothes as in them. Responded well and seemed to enjoy. Picked us up some dinner from Ruenthai on Second Road (really good food) for 300 Baht. Had dinner together and she left at around 5:00 pm I was beat and took a short nap. Had another fitting for the pants at the tailor and then responded to the TF girl I'd met on Day 2. Went over to Next Best Bar on Soi 8. Played some pool and some dice game (Jackpot?) with her and mamasan. Total drinks and BF was 1400 Baht. Thai holiday the next day so bar closed at midnight. Went back to hotel and again, she fell asleep shortly thereafter. I did get Round 1 in the morning which was again, really good. Had breakfast together at McHead Restaurant on Second Road (decent English breakfast) for 300 Baht and then had to go back to my hotel to get some work done.

Overall, soapies are exactly what everyone here has said. I doubt you're going to get anything uncovered, the manager and attendants all have their hands out for tips and aren't bashful, but if you enjoy some pampering, you'll probably think it was worth the money. The going rates for ST and LT posted by BananaBoi for tourists appear to be very accurate. If you're a local or regular I'm sure discounts are there to be had. I did not visit Soi 6 but saw some cuties on Soi 8 so the occasional "diamond in the rough" is still there. Plenty of stunners in the major gogo's for all preferences, whether you like them tall and slim or more hourglass. I have no information to compare from 5 or 10 years ago, but these are just my perceptions as a first-timer. And the food and other costs here are substantially cheaper (than USA Or even Mexico) which made up for the long flight over. One more night and the bus picks me up tomorrow morning.

Jay0940 may I suggest you check out a fabulous pick me up that all the stores stock and its only 30 cents, its called M150 (don't buy the supercharged version it sucks). Its like red bull on steroids but in a good way. Keep a few bottles on hand for when you feel tired yet have a girl in your room, in fact make a mixed drink out of it and give some to the girl as well. That will keep her from going off to sleep.

A friend has got a week to spare so we will hit Thailand, what would you gents say is the difference between Bangkok vs Pattaya for a week?

Is there much difference at all? Apart from a beach.

It's been said many times before, 2 days Bangkok, go to Pattaya and stay for as long as you are having a good time, then back to Bangkok. It's a 90-120 minute taxi ride costing you between 1300-1500 baht. Much cheaper transportation around 200 baht per person if you don't mind hopping in to a minivan / bus with others.

Don't listen to anyone's opinion on here on which is better. There are pro Pattaya and pro Bangkok guys. Go to both and make your own opinion. They are both worth seeing.

If good food matters at all as it certainly does for me, Bangkok is WAY better than Pattaya.

[/QUOTE]That is good advice BB. As a "pro Bangkok guy" I got to say, I spent a long weekend in Pattaya in October after a 2 year hiatus and I had a great time & met some damn sexy girls. I still prefer the big city overall because there is more to do, more variety, and yes better restaurants, but I have already booked another weekend sidetrip from BKK in May and looking forward to it. BKK is the big city. Patt is the resort town. Take you pick. Both good for what you want/what you need - girls.

But I like BB's advice of visiting both places to get your own perspective and then sticking to what you like better. I love both places, but BKK edges out PYX marginally on several parameters.

For me the biggest difference between BKK and Pattaya is the clientele. The gogo bars in both cities have fairly similar clientele since they are the more expensive places to hobby. However, most of the low cost Pattaya beer bars attract customers who look much more poor and ghetto than the average BKK beer bar customers. In Pattaya, you will see more guys wearing tank tops, sandals, and dirty sometimes putrid clothes. It's not just the way guys dress some of the Pattaya guys just look poor as fuck.

Since I will now visit for longer periods, I will stay mostly in Pattaya due to lower costs and a more laid back atmosphere. But I always spend the last 5 nights of my trips in BKK. Without question both should be experienced. BB, I don't think I have ever heard you express a preference for BKK before. I'm a little surprised by that.
