Is there much difference at all? Apart from a beach.[/QUOTE]Pattaya or Bangkok. Because I live in Thailand its Bangkok but for visitors I recommend Pattaya. Easier to get around and the mongering is totally immersive, you cannot turn a corner down there without walking into a working girl. It has the beach such as it is, trips to the islands and other happy holiday bits and pieces.

It takes time to know and understand Bangkok, how to get around, where to eat but when you live here for a while, get used to the traffic and become familiar with the scene there is no comparison.

For my taste in girls Bangkok does have the single best establishment in both cities, Thermae.

I almost never take a girl out of Thermae. I am just not into the Thermae look and I especially dislike the way the girls dress, even the sexy ones. Add to that, the ones that act super friendly to me and appear eager to be chosen are the least desirable physically IMHO. Opinions may vary. Which is my point.

The places I like most in BKK are certain favorite Go Go's & Soapies. Pattaya has some great Go Go's too as I remarked in my last post. I was duly impressed, but Pattaya's soapies can't compete with BKK soapies. Its like the difference between Formula 1 (BKK) and Formula 2 (Pattaya) racing as far as soapies are concerned. Again, opinions may vary.

In case you didn't know Bangkok Airways flies non-stop between Pattaya and Phuket. Pattaya airport was about 1 hour by taxi from Walking Street last summer. My driver told me a new section of highway to be completed by now will make it a much shorter trip. Air Asia also flies that route non-stop.

I absolutely hate the taxi ride between BKK and Pattaya and will do anything to avoid it.

To me Pattaya was more of a tourist area (don't get me wrong there is plenty of activity to get into if you know what I mean) I don't plan to ever go there again but that's my preference. I would probably do a BKK & (Phuket or Chiang Mai) on my next visit. However If you never been before then try to split time and experience both. I don't think you would go wrong plus read up there is plenty of valuable info here on both!

There's more girls in Pattaya from November to about March whereas Bangkok has solid amount year round. This isn't to say Pattaya is a ghost town because it's still worth visiting. A ride to Pattaya is 1000 to 1500 b / trip. It's cheaper to holiday there though the gogo's have reached Bangkok prices. Pattaya is great if the preference is a more laid back trip and without much of the noise of the city. Bangkok is great if the preference is restaurants, roof bars, and being in a city.

Been having a very good success rate getting LINE ID's from Thai Friendly, seems the best time to ask is right before your trip. But it is hit and miss, many girls don't respond but those that do give their LINE ID's are usually freelancers. You can also tell by some girls Thai Friendly ID that it might be their LINE ID as well and do a quick search. Works OK if they are freelancers but got a few regular girls who did get a bit upset when asked if they were free for sex.

For Americans: See Bangkok as Thailands New York, and Pattaya as LOS Angeles, and Phuket would then be Miami.

For Europeans: See Bangkok as Berlin / Amsterdam and Pattaya as Cannes / Hamburg, and Phuket would then be Barcelona.

For South Americans (why the fck anyone from SA would visit Asia beats me) See Bangkok as Bogota / Lima, and Pattaya as Rio, and Phuket would be Cartagena.

IMHO, I think that is a good way to see the difference, cheers JD.

P.S: don't even think about Betong, you will be lost, you will feel you are missing out. You 100% will do miss out. (No Country for old men / Rookies).

Soi 6 in Pattaya was dead in December and January compared to right now. Don't know If the good times will go on into March.

Between my first visit in Nov'17 and right now I see no difference in quality or quantity of girls on Soi6.

The place has enough girls to find one that would suit your preference. But it takes patience and walking back and forth multiple times. Also all girls don't prefer to sit outside during the hot afternoon hours so the girl that might turn you on is not necessarily sitting outside.
