The place I rented from was right next to the Eupopa Hotel. A passport is required, but sorry I do not remember the rate. They have helmets but don't expect a Shoei. Befor you pull off make sure you have oil in the engine and meat on the brake pads. In the event of a get off always carry a credit card. The hospital will hold you hostage if you can not pay up front. Stop signs are rare in sosua and there is only one traffic light in town.
Right of way is whomever gets there first. Have fun. Nothing is better than riding off into the night with a hot chica holding on tight and you are guaranteed a ride from her in return.
First thing to do when you rent a bike is head to the gas station.... the tank WILL be on fumes!!

I got a few ads from Europa offering discounts for rooms.

New Garden
Just wanted to know from the vets or those who have stayed at the NG if they could speak to whether or not NG honors reservations, as I believe I came across some stories where people had booked and then somehow NG "lost" their reservations. I will be in the DR for the 2nd time in Dec(9-11 in pop) and the 12-15 in Sosua(first time) and wanted to stay at the NG. Any and all help appreciated.

I've stayed there at least a dozen times over the past year and never had a problem. Just e-mail your reservation request to:hotel.garden@codetel.net.do and then follow-up by calling Wilfred, the manager. (809) 571-1557

Thanks Koki I called NG and was told by some guy to call back in the morning. I also went to their site and filled out the information template they have and asked about reservations, hopefully they will respond sooner rather than later.

There are three hotels in the area of new garden.
One is casa Valeria cheaper with wifi good food selection. Casa Valeria is chica
friendly but being quite is a must. Casa Valeria is my first choice of the three.
New Garden is okay, But cost more, very loud. food is terrible. except for breakfast. There is another girl friendly across the street. I've never stayed there.
All the Best!

Economy
Hi Guys,
Thanks for feedback on my previous question. To change the subject sort of I wanted to know how the global financial crisis is effecting resort towns such as Sosua. Are real estate prices dropping? Does anyone notice less tourists arriving? If economy is f'ck up in the USA, can it be worse in tourist towns like Sosua? Just out of curiosity does this also lower prices for booty if there is less demand?
In my opinion Sosua has actually gotten better b/c the girls are more into pleasing b/c they want to lock you in for a few days. Before it was stick and move for the men and women. The girls are desperate. Two weeks ago a girl I've never sent money called to say she was in the hospital in a coma and needed money. I asked how are you on the phone if you are in a coma? . Booty is more negoitiable but you are taking your girl. I would love to hear the story about you pulling that off. Enjoy your visit.

Wilfred works 9-4 usually. In addition to the hotels mentioned below, there is Seabreeze around the corner for $46.50 a night w/o breakfast. But I spoke with the owner about 2 weeks ago and he said he was almost totally booked for the next couple of months.
And as for the noise at the NG, take a room at in the new wing which is about $10-12 more expensive but has new king beds, much nicer bathrooms and is very quiet. I agree the old wing can be noisy.
I'll be back there in two weeks for the weekend. Was just there for 5 days and the chicas are starving. But that also means the crop of real hotties is almost non-existent as many Dominicanas have moved on or stayed home. On both Friday and Saturday night, the upstairs at Classicos didn't start hopping until well after midnight. Used to be the chicas started trooping upstairs at 11:00 on the dot. Lots of Haitianas though.

Already got the confirmation from wilfred for the standard room. Is it really that noisy in the standard rooms/wing? I'm talking earplugs are mandatory noisy? If so maybe I might see if I can switch to a room in the new wing.

Re: NG Noise
Yes the noise in the old wing at NG is really that bad. Ground floor seems to be worse and whatever you do, don't get stuck in the room next to the kitchen or you will hear all the banging and clanging as they prepare breakfast every morning. I think that room is #1.
I'm trying the new wing this time around and sounds better there. Hope this helps. Have fun! FunInTheSun

The New garden is every noisey and the food is horrible.

Thanks guys, I was able to switch to the new rooms after reading about the noise factor, so hopefully they are as good as you guys claim them to be.
