I spent about a decade visiting and exploring Colombia, and I still visit Medellin here and there.

Lately though, I've been calling Brazil my second home.

At first, especially if you've become proficient at speaking spanish, the portuguese will frustrate you.

Once you've become accustomed to comunicating well, it's difficult to go back to when you couldn't.

The spanish will only get you so far, and not very far at that, however, with the spanish background, learning portuguese is much easier than starting from scratch.

You'll run into the same game playing and little lies, drama, etc, as in Colombia, when playing with chicas (they call them garotas in Brasil) in the touristy areas like Rio, however, get away from those areas, where you'll refreshingly run into a very small amount of gringos, and it's wonderful.

2) Is there a service where you can buy a Colombian number that will receive text messages and calls, just like Skype 'online number' service? This would be perfect but they don't support Colombian so I'm wondering if there's an alternative.
