When my daughter was small, I used to bring some clothes, she had grown out, with me and gave them to the mucama who cleaned my room. I always had enoug towels and most importantly had my room cleaned exactly when I wanted it to be cleaned. Now I'm going to bring some shoes and sneakers I have used only coupled times and other stuff I don't use anymore to give these people. They have always somebody in their family who is grateful and in need for them.

They would go crazy and fight over it.
It was well worth lugging that suitcase all the way there.
Over the years (and not just in Sosua) I noticed that unless the stuff was brand new, or had a designer label, they weren't as interested, so I stopped taking that extra suitcase.

In any case, SDQ is looking like the best value in airfare in the next few months. Even on Spirit, BOG and MDE are a bit pricey this year for some reason. Forget about POP. Its the same price as going to BKK. Need to check this out, even if it does mean a bus ride.
I fly into SD and save $200 on flight over POP. I get in around 2 and have plenty of time to do the city. I arrange a meeting with a young lady who is with my program. We go to the mall see a movie and a bite to eat and back for some rack time. The sex takes the edge off so I have some resistance to the Sosua chicas. I take an early Bus so I am in Sosua by lunch time.

They may be a kin group of sisters and cousins, or a group of girls who have traveled on the bus to Sosua together to give each other moral support and have not yet split down into pairs. It is actually much easier to effectively conspire to defraud people working as a pair than as a group. The lone chica is probably more self confident and cannot be trusted either.
The thing about the large purses likewise. They might indeed carry large bags so they can steal more stuff, or alternatively they might just be carrying a change of clothing. Often the things that are of most value to steal are small items like cell phones and cameras, but televisions and hotel curtains not so much so.
Any time you meet a chica, you need to do due diligence as best you can to determine what kind of a person she is and lock up your valuables anyway, or better still don't have any.
