Maybe 1 out of every thousand, and that's being generous, is making more than the typical monger. And that's not the average monger. The typical monger is (when you include retirees) making $50-$80 k annually. The average is probably comfortably above $150 k. The typical monger includes the expats who move to Colombia because $30-$40 k pensions or SS go a lot farther. It also includes everyone who struggles to save enough for 1 or 2 short trips per year.

The typical prepago in Colombia is lucky to pull in $6 k per year. The really busy ones are getting up to $15-$20 k per year. The 1 in a 1000 is hitting $50 k or more. Maybe 1 in 5000 tops $100 k annually, but they're working as top models, internationally.

Now add in that most are supporting, not only their own kids, but often a mother, grandmother, and or brothers and sisters.

Make friends with a few of them. Talk them into showing you where they live. You probably shouldn't go at night. While you're there, look for a few things. There's probably a TV, maybe some sort of stereo. Look at the furniture, really look. If you know furniture, and I do, you'll see it's the cheap stuff like they sell at Big Lots, even cheaper than Walmart furniture. Look for a water heater. Look for a washer. Look for flooring, something other than painted concrete. Look for all the things you would expect a young woman, earning $50 k or more in the US to have.

What I'm getting at is, most of these girls are living in conditions most of us couldn't handle. Sure they will try to get more money. They'll lie and plead and try every trick to get another few dollars from you.

There's no need to give in. Pay the agreed price. Teach her that if she wants to charge more, she needs to set a price and be firm. But if you're needing to make up a fairy tale that she's probably living like a princess, you're way off.

Most of them you can whatsapp and if you ask for a face pic they will usually send one.

Here is the reality. If a girl in medellin has no skills and wants to get a job in a retail store, she is going to get 40 mil a day. She pays for her own transportation and she pays her own food.

I was talking with a receptionist in an economical hotel downtown. She works 6 days a week 9 hours a day. She gets paid 1 million pesos a month and she is psyched because that is enough to pay her rent (400.000), food, transport and more. That is roughly 35 mil a day!

So your extra 20 mil is almost a days work for a normal chica.

Perspective.

And from my reports you can see that I don't go buying chicks all the extra drinks and giving the extra tips fooling myself into believing the chick is going to turn it up a notch. I agree with the overall sentiment of the reply. But these girls would "have" more if they were not such spendthrifts. Purses, shoes, slutty clothes, nails, hair (including extensions), dental work, tatooed eyebrows, tatoos, implants, etc. Not to mention what they spend on drugs and / or booze. There are some who make good decisions, but most "live in the moment" because they know anything else. They party like a rock star one week and have no money for food or rent the next.
