Prostitution as such is not a crime in Thailand. It is actually not much different than similar laws in most of civilized countries.

Bottom end, if you will, are women in Thai-oriented areas like Khlong Lot and Yaowarat, going ST for 300-600 baht (some look OK but service is poor). If anybody's paying 3k per day for a fugly bargirl, they're being taken for a ride.

As fro the 100k / day girls at Terminal 21, I call bullshit. That's a *yearly* salary for most Thais. I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding a girl who'll take your 100k and a pimp who will procure, but doubt there's any sort of organized market in that price range (with easy access for a rich Farang tourist).

It was a nice store 8 years back but is better today from my observations. A few guys here write as it is all black and white. I find the lines to be infact very blurred. I would like to droddle through some of the latest posts in general.

Some state that a hi so thai girl from traditions / culture never can be seen with a fairly successful Thai man. Well, the girls I frequent in this level (hi so) would not have a Thai man whatsoever as they find them as unfaithful and the worst kind of men there is. Some despite the old Thai culture and traditions holding Thailand back as a country as they don't see any modernism to it as well. They come from families where maby their parent generation are more traditionaly directed but over the years their children (aka, lets call them "my girls") have become more and more internationalized, studied abroad, travelled abroad, building themself a net of contacts globaly but still choose to live and work in Bangkok (commercialy or private) or atleast work out from BKK. First I believe there probably are a proper definition of what is a "hi so" girl (I promise I did not bother to google it). To some maby it is just upper middle class, hehe. I remember I read somewhere not long ago that someone viewed FL place Thermae as a Hi So place, hehe. To me a hi so girl is well educated, well connected to the upper parts of a city or community. This will often be moviestars, famous musicians, models, CDO`s, politicians etc. She has her own money (atleast 100K per month) , car, house and probably are from some sort of rich background (don't have to be royal or part of the families owning Chang, Red Bull or Shinga) and she frequent typical hi so places (and they are far from Thermae both in distance and quality). Probably a lot I forgot but this is how I view a hi so girl.

I meet these girls (not all at one time ofcourse) through friends I have in the fashionindustry and aviationindustry. These industries are known to throw quite some parties (fashionindustry in particular). Here it is very likely, if you are a nice decent guy (since I also frequent the FL scene quite a lot I know I am not but they don't know) , you will eventually meet some stunners. They are not reluctant showing themself out in the open with me (a foreign guy) , be it in Thong Lor bars or walking hand in hand at the Siam Paragorn (hand in hand not my favorite). Lets say these girls are pretty (atleast I think so and I have a fairly good taste and I like thaichineese or others of more paleskinned thai origin of some sort, I also like the girls from mixed thai / western background) and they know it.

Despite other posters here most of them are tigers in bed. So saying that a beautiful girl will not perform decent in bedactivies is not how I view it. If I could have them only by game I don't know as they are, like most attractive hi so girls globaly, of high maintainance costs (as in decent wine and dine, nice gifts and expensive trips). My MO I learned from my dad and he convinced me into believing "that beautiful girls are not so popular as we would like to think and many guys are infact afraid to even talk to them". It has worked out well for me and mostly I hit them up by telling them a silly joke (a Monthy Python one) as an icebreaker. Beeing a funny, friendly and a partyguy are all it takes.

These girls have busy careers and are, as far as I know, pretty happy living in their secured residencial areas by themself (aka as singles) in Bangkok and don't want to be a part of this "have to get married and have child soon" stucked up old habit from some earlier years. They are without exceptions citygirls, modern and vibrant, speaks english better or as good as any person not beeing borned / raised in a native englishspeaking country.

I don't mean to argue what earlier posters have posted as they probably write from how they view it. Beeing an expat in Thailand for many years will give you your story. The story will depend a great deal on what kind of people you hang out with and what kind of environment you are beeing a part of. I am a frequent BKK visitor myself (100+ times in approx 8 years) and my story are different. And even if I am not (and never will be) a resident of Thailand I have a pretty good feel of the vibe going on (atleast the latest 8 years). I pretty much exclude FL girls writing this post, hell they can even have the Isaan look without me pulling back, but I have had a decent good fleet of pretty and well educated girls over the years and they have told me about their lifes and how they view BKK of today. Ofcourse I have absorbed some of this and mixed it into my own observations to look for mismatch.

My 4 girls who I have contact with today are from 22 to 31 years. I am 41. Yes they would probably want some on their own age (atleast the two youngest ones) but as long as I am good enough and like to meet me on a very unregular basis I am happy. By beeing nice I even had other regulars recommended me to some of th friends as themself ran into more serious relationships with western guys ofcourse. In all fairness I will never be able to give them a true relationship after all as I am allready taken (poor GF back home).

Well, I would say it did. Those of you who were not here 15 years ago cannot really imagine the number of working girls available and the variety of looks, sizes, etc. Did it "spoil" us? Hell yes it did. Spoiled us for looks, attitudes, prices, etc. That is really the point isn't it? That BKK P4P is a far cry from what it was? You have reinforced my point.

I have many friends in the music scene who date these types of girls. Most are middle to upper middle class chicks. Of course most of these gals have Western expectations when it comes to their mates and can be just as demanding, pouty, and bitchy as Western women. Upside is they don't have parasitic families.

I have a lot of Thai girl friends who used to work with me in NYC. Girls who dated black, white, asian, indian, latino, etc. When I meet them in Thailand they explain to me that no moderately successful Thai man would see her a GF / Wife potential if they have dated / slept around with other guys of other races and even though they have that freedom outside of Thailand, they are stuck in the cultural warp that so controls their life in their countries.

So these hotties all over Bangkok will be fair game and a easy lay if they were plucked out of that environment. I don't think we should read it as an commentary on how they view foreigners. This is apparent in every country with deep cultural traditions that has dictated societal norms for centuries and more.

Yes, you will be expected to produce offspring, and you will have to attend family functions, but so what? You can also have your own fun provided you are discreet. Have a problem? You're preaching to the choir to some extent on the trend issue, because I agree with your central premise, as there is no doubt the P4P situation in Bangkok 12 to 15 years back was far better than today, which was Stickman's basic point and has been affirmed by dozens of other commentators in here. In fact, this site itself has archived records of posts going back to year 2002 and reviewing the Bangkok posts around that time is consistent with that same premise.. There was obviously some kind of "golden era" of sorts occurring in the P4P scene in Bangkok back at that time, perhaps a confluence of factors coming together at the same time - a decent (though not as good as today) infrastructure in combination with Bangkok just entering the age of affluence and prosperity along with the global economy and all its side effects not yet quite the factor that it is today.

Here is the way I see Asian women. The really beautiful North Asians, Koreans, Japanese, and Chinese, are the best looking women on the planet. We have a lot of North Asians staying in hotels on my soi and sometimes I see a gal that just stops me mid-step. Tall, lily white skin, perfect hour glass figure, statuesque, etc. There are very few that fit into this category and the rest of their sisters are not all that great whereas the average Thai gal is pretty nice to look at making BKK a fantastic place to gaze at women.

Economic development and more opportunity for women, which is not a bad thing. Women here have it better than they did 10 years ago and this trend will continue. Given the choice most women don't want to be P4P gals. I think we all know that. Now they can make enough elsewhere.

But as Skogis points out, there are plenty of non-P4P gals out there who are looking for some fun. Thai women are going through their sexual revolution and part of this is due to new found economic freedom. Young folks are out there hooking up without the Western guilt that Christianity places on many folks in the West. There are some gals for us middle aged dudes as well. Plenty of 30 something Thai women who want to have some fun, but you have to get out to Thong Lor, etc and mingle.

Bangkok is still preferable to the US, in almost every way. Two noted exceptions being craft beer and music.

The general consensus going around is that hi-so girls are prettier and better looking that your average P4P girl and thus mostly unavailable if you are in the standard P4P circles. In my case, I am only looking for sex with hot girls. Not a GF, nor to settle down. I have not been active in the FL scene in Bangkok as I mostly stick to escorts and bar girls but I have seen some very attractive girls in the clubs. Some may be FL's, some Hi-So and some both. Hi-So is just a label to segregate a group and make themselves feel socially superior, but for me as long as she is moderately hot and gives a great fuck I couldn't care less what they want to call themselves, whether they come free or P4P.
