In my never ending pursuit of new ways to get laid I have used a lot of social media and dating sites. For instance Filipino girls will have no problem going out with, going to bed with, or even marring a 40 years older. Thai girls yes but not as much. Vietnamese girls have no interest for the most part. Not saying there aren't isolated instances but rare in my experience. Vietnam and the Phils are both dirt poor. My personal experience with Vietnamese is they are very shy. Much more than the Thai or Filipino. I spend quite a bit of time with a woman I met the last time. I could have done a long term deal with her. Very successful attorney in Saigon. Divorced with one child but smart and very pretty at 35. I went to kiss her and she was truly embarrassed. Most times the bar girls congratulate each other at getting a barfine. The Filipino girls are very loving, in public and in private. The girl I took to Puerto Galera was all over me, almost as if she was proud to have a white guy.

I have gotten more than just BJs in Vietnam. Each of the times has been darn good but it's pretty much "lets do this" attitude. I have several friends, most a few years older than me, who served in Vietnam. Some were there as early as 1965-66. I was of an age when I used to think of time as a year of high school. A good friend who flew choppers remembers in 1966 going to Pattaya. He described it as just a small fishing village. The first time my buddy literally camped out on the beach for a few days. A strapping young farang in his early 20s living on the beach was a curiosity. It didn't take him long to attract the interest of one particular young local lady. He said she showed up at his camp site with a recently killed and cleaned chicken. In some tellings of the story the chicken was still alive. He killed it. She cleaned it. Anyway, he rustled up the implements to build a fire and cook the chicken. Afterwards they ate it. She ate a little. He ate most if it. No sex on the first visit. He had learned a couple of Thai phrases. She knew no English. Still he had a great time. Of course my friend wasn't the first GI to visit Pattaya. He heard about it from a few other guys. Over time he kept going back. He claims when he started going there few people had heard about it, but word spread fast. Other GIs started to go. The appeal was that it was peaceful and the people were very friendly. That was it. However I agree with you and Western; outside of some strange event I think it would take many years for it to become priced out.

Despite the election, Tonight (Saturday) , all of the Soi Nana / Soi 4 area seemed pretty much normal with everything open, with a few twists. I first looked down from the JW and everything was lit up as usual. After getting down on the street, it actually seemed busier than a normal Saturday night in March, even with the football games going. I think it might be because if Soi Cowboy was closed, then a lot of their customers were in Nana instead. Add to that that it's a Saturday night and you get crowded. Even the street at 10PM seemed to have a more girls freelancing than usual, maybe from closed bars.

The bars along Soi 4 were all pretty packed, Morning-Night, Big Dogs, Hillary 4. I settled in a packed Bar 4 lucky to get a table. The beer was served in a glass as they took the bottle away, and I had to pay with each round, no tab. At least I knew my bill wasn't going to get padded. The girl I was hoping to meet was either already BF'ed or not working, so I then went into Nana Plaza to Billboard on the 3rd floor looking for another girl who also wasn't there, but there was no shortage of talent or customers. Beer got served in a tall 20 oz paper cup marked for coffee and again no bin (tab) , you paid for each round as it came.

Bottom Line: Nana is for the most part normal, except you can't run a tab by filling a bin with receipts. You pay by the drink / round. And in some bars you drink from paper cups, which sucks. I'd have no issue going there again tomorrow as the alcohol ban is supposed t extend until midnight Sunday.

Can anyone report on other areas in Bangkok last night with the election "no alcohol" restrictions in place? I made the nana report but I didn't venture elsewhere and was told by a bar girl friend that her bar in Soi Cowboy was closed tonight. Was all of SOi Cowboy shut down? Same for Patpong? Soi 33? Other areas?

I guess it's supposed to be the same tomorrow (Sunday) night until midnight, so it would be good info to know.

Far fewer. Might be more Asian guys, but that tends to be a bit different scene. There are also fewer gals. Proportionally though there has been more loss on the gal side then on the sex tourist side.

You are absolutely correct about information. These gals know they are "wanted." Sadly, with the Western scene, value is arbitrary. Dudes pay BMW prices for a Toyota. From then on that Toyota will think it is a BMW, and unlike in the West the Toyota will not accept Toyota prices again. The Toyota would rather starve than lose face. I would also never say mis-priced. Dudes throw sense out the window when sex is concerned. A 1k baht P4P gal is still a 1K baht P4P gal even if some guy gives her 3k. Supply and demand work a little different when sex is concerned. Case in point, oilies. There are far more of them then there were 5 years ago, yet on average service is not as good as it was. They just know you "catch more flies with honey than vinegar." Thais are amazingly manipulative and are very patient. They can wait years for the big payoff. Can't say the same about Viets.

The Viets are far more Chinese in their approach. I like Viet girls. They tend to be very physical and intense in bed. They screw you like they hate you. I think I read that the first bar on Soi Cowboy was opened by a US GI. I can only dream of what it was like during the war. I would have loved to be in Vietnam. I've read that you could have a maid for a few dollars a week and she would do most wife duties including bedroom duties. Talk about LT. I'm sure there are a few vets here. I have a lot of experience with Indonesian ladies and I believe they are among the best on the planet, as sexual partners and as female companions.

Semarang is an industrial city of a couple million (at that time) and not a tourist destination. Businessmen do visit it, and those who do tend to go on a regular basis. The young men were genuinely happy when I joined them in the dancing. When I was ready to leave I had dozens of ladies to choose from. These were all non-pros who were thrilled to have an opportunity to go back with me to my suite. I was living out of a local hotel, not one that catered to western businessmen. The lady I would pick would be so excited as were her friends. It was kind of weird. The ladies were very sweet and great in bed. Young Javanese ladies really liked and really knew how to fuck.
