The Jelly Hotel is a so-called "love hotel" -- at least, that's how it looked to me when I walked past it one night, and that's what it [url=http://joongangdaily.joins.com/200505/17/200505172212067939900091009101.html]admits in the newspaper[/url] -- conveniently located between the Yeoksam Station and the Kangnam Station on Subway line 2 (the Green Line). The rooms are reasonably priced and the place looks plush enough.

That neighborhood is reasonably well-equipped with massage parlors (W200,000) and barbershops (W80,000-100,000). My guess is 100m in any direction will turn up at least two hot spots. If you get desperate just to the north a long city block away lie the Ritz-Carlton and Novotel Ambassador hotels. The forum has reports on massage parlors and barbershops nearby.

Get on the subway and go to Seollung Station, get off and walk on the north side of the street from Seollung Station to Samseong Station (COEX), in the alley just behind the main street, and you'll encounter a million great places ranging from massage parlors and barbershops to "hardcore" room salons and "look-but-don't-touch" so-called "sexy bars". That's pay for play.

588 is very far away. It's probably a W17,000 cab ride from where you are. Or you can try to navigate by subway to Cheongnyang-ni Station, which will have you taking the Green Line to Wangshim-ni Station (14 or 15 stops, depending on where you get on) and transferring to the National Rail Road light-turquoise line. That line lets off at the main railway station, whereupon you'll have to step out into the main plaza and toddle off to your left into the alleyways behind the Lotte Department Store.

Is it worth it? Probably not. W80,000 for a quick clinical bang (admittedly with a really hot girl) and the highest likelihood of arrest and humiliation. No thanks.

Kangnam Station is the area where all the young people get together to have beers. Go and look perplexed and you might pick up a sweet young thing who wants to learn English. But be prepared for disappointment -- she probably only wants to learn English.

Unless things have changed at JJ's in the last year or so, I'd stay away from this option. The girls were older and very expensive W300K.
