No idea. There wasn't any protest going on at the bridge, or anywhere down Avenida Juarez. One block from the bridge, a few more people than usual were standing around, with a military guy holding them back, and I just kept walking towards the bridge, and a federale in riot gear in the street jumped in my face and ordered me back. After a few minutes of watching, I walked around the northern block and tried to approach the bridge from that angle, but that was when the locals started stringing out the yellow tape. Two hours later, when I was walking to my car by the bridge in EP, there was still no traffic, car or foot, coming over. Bottomline: love to monger, but not in a war zone. YMMV.

btw, i got robbed by the police friday night. not a mordida - a robbery. i was pulled over and accused of being drunk (not). they wanted $250 u.s. one was acting pretty proud of his shotgun, and was getting ready to cuff me when they finally settled for what i had - $150+. nice guy, he threw my pesos back at me. they rifled through my car too, but as far as i can tell didn't take anything. i guess they had to clean up before the army got there and confirep001ed all the sex toys.
