Thanks[/QUOTE]One time when I stayed in Cabrette I drove to Samana and then to Las Terrenas spending the night before driving back. If you go all the way to Samana you need to go to Las Terrenas which is very beautiful. If driving from Santiago I would go through Puerto Plata 1. 5 hrs to Nauga 2. 5 hrs and then to Samana 1. 5 hrs. Takes about 1 hour to continue on to Las Terrenas. The roads are generally good with the worst being between Santiago and Puerto Plata. Lots of little towns to drive through so the worst time would be late in the afternoon. It takes about an extra hour to drive the same route if you drive it in the afternoon.

I do believe that Las Terrenas is the most beautiful part of the Dominican Republic.

You can get a very cheap Sim card reader that will read the number and text messages stored on the card, also I think the code is on the phone not the card, so if she pops your sim into her phone she might be able to read everything.

Put the numbers in as a variation on guys names, for example Maria can be Mario, Luisa... Luis, Angela... Angel. That's what I've done with my nosy live in.

I use to code my female contacts with guys names to hide them from my girlfriend in Colombia but once I started to get quite a few numbers it got confusing so I don't bother anymore because bottom line is that it's my fucking phone!

The "codes" using guys names in change of girls names does get very confusing and the girls aren't that naive anymore and may vet the numbers. I suggest the 2nd phone method. Therefore no confusion or mixups or odd times when you cannot answer, or your chica asking a lot of the questions we are always asking them, like "why is your phone always on vibrate or on silent" je je LOL

One phone is for my job, and the other is for everything else. My employer prohibits me from using the work phone for non-work matters, and gets the bill directly. Now, I also have an AT&T go phone for girls who don't get the real number. LOL. That phone is password protected and not on in mixed company.

I am not in the DR, but elsewhere in Latin America nobody touches my phone without asking. Of course, I have never lived with any of these chicas. I have spent weeks at a time traveling with them, though. They hound me sometimes to buy them phone credits, but they don't mess with my phone. The concept I have trouble getting them to understand is the concept of having a job, which entails doing X at Y time, and being unavailable for N hours. That, they just don't get. "Can't you just do that later?" No.

My problem is not the cell phones; it's the laptop. No, I don't have Messenger on my laptop. No, you may not put Messenger on my laptop. No, I am not on Facebook. No, you may not check your Facebook page. No, I am not interesting in seeing your Facebook page. Look a like at first but when they find out that they can't chat with their friends and family all day using the blackberry messenger system they might get very disappointed so make sure you bang them a few times before they head over to orange or claro to have it checked out. This question for some of you two-wheeling DR veterans: I'm coming down for my first visit in February. May spend a bit of time in SD or the North Coast but want to spend a lot of time in the campo. And want to do it on a motorcycle.

Can anyone give me the lowdown on renting bikes. Having lived for a long time in SE Asia, I'm happy with anything from a 125 Honda or perhaps a bit bigger.
