My driver told me most of the massage parlors around town are closed. He said some are starting to open up.

Fishbowl at Paris Hotel is closed. He said it might open up next month.

Salomon (Old Mikado): Closed.

Le Crycee: Open, but might be hard for most people to use upstair room. Need to go to ST guesthouse next to the old Salomon. Girls wear pants; no access-can't fondle. Owner told the girls: no photos. I guess too many on the internet. It seems he's trying to keep it "low-keyed". Yup, the good old days are no more (Remember the cheap prices, no underwear and all the girls said yes to photos)

Heart of Darkness: Added 2nd floor. I like the new lay-out.

The problem there these days as far as I'm concerned isn't to do with panties or photos, it's the decline in the quality of the girls. Not that long ago you could find some real lookers there and some real performers. But I don't think I've come across either there for a couple years now.

There was a piece on BBC last night about sex tourism in Brazil and that it is quickly overtaking Asia/Thailand as the next sex tourist destination... largely because of the recent cleanup of the sex industry in Asia. I think we all agree to that. Sigh!
Anyway I'll be making a short trip to SEA in September, but because of the limited duration I won't be stopping in PP. Please say hello to Molly at Rose Bar for me.

Definitly not, as most mongers left Brazil towards Thailand/Philippines cos of the costs.

Brazil is expensive as western Europe (food, accomodation, nightlife, mongering) and it will never be the sex destination of the future. The nightlife is much smaller as it used to be and the costs are extrem high.

the bbc report seemed to be another ngo "give us donations" "expose" on child prostitution and **** sex tourists, not a report on traditional tourist mongers. centered on an interview with a 13 year old crack addict whose mother pimps her and her sister.

I will be revisiting Penh for a change of scenery from LOS in the not too distant future. I think I may also check out Kampot and Kep for a few days while I am in country.

Question: I know there are bus service as well as private drivers to take me there, but I like to do my own thing. And in this case, that means renting a car and driving there with a Khmer cutie of my choosing.

1. Are there reliable car rental agencies in Penh? I have not heard of any.

2. What do you guys think about my idea of driving to Kampot on my own?
I am a pretty experienced 3rd world driver, having driven all over Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru, Thailand and parts of Northern India.

Cambodia over Brazil for me. Somewhat surprising how small the mongering scene in Rio was. Ok, i was only there two weeks. Phnom Pehn was much more fun Sept 09. Have to agree with Bigcebu, Brazil very expensive for mediocre services.

Cambo is a pittance.

I have not heard of any car rental places. Check the yellow pages there may be some. Otherwise hire a bike like just about everyone else.

The drive to Kampot is easy, once you're out of the PP mess. If you do get there be sure to take a side trip to Kep.

Thanks Betong for the info. I was Googleing and Binging PP car rental companies to no avail. But, once you pointed me in the right direction, I was able to come up with a list of 5 car rental companies in PP including Sada. I find the value of belonging to this forum to be well worth the price of membership.

Yep, I figured getting out of PP would be the tricky part. I will map my exit route carefully and just drive nice and slow until I get out of the city. Thanks again, NB.

P.S. Is there any action in Kampot or Kep? It's probably best to bring your own, but I can't help wondering.
