The difference between now and then; I was 34 when I first came in '99. I was not only one of the youngest guys in the bars, I was one of the younger Farangs in BKK. Most expats were older and certainly most dudes in the bars were older. And almost all farangs guys back then frequented the bars. One of the reasons I choose to move to Thailand was I saw how good these older guys had it. It is very different now. Most of the older guys I see are with older girls.

2 PART REPORT: SEX INDUSTRY CLOSING IN THAILAND!

First My buddy who resides in Thailand 6 months of each year since 1984, has dozens of Thai girlfriends and mongers at least twice on a weekly bases. He has just informed me that the Thai government is dead serious this go around about cracking down on the sex industry! He told me they have a 3 year goal to wipe clean the brothels and gogo bars servicing any form of sex, sex shows, or full nudity! He told me the ball game will be over in the coming 18 months. Sure we will always be able to find WG in the LOS, but it will never again be as open and robust as in the past. Angers me badly. To me when I went to Thailand and got off my long flight, it was like stepping into an absolute fantasy world, almost unbelievable. No place like it on earth. As much sex with beautiful women as any man can handle at any pace you want! Well, those days are coming to an end. He even told me they ran an undercover sting busting 17 locals using undercover decoys! They mean business this go around. Check the local papers, should be a story or two about the stings.

My friend also told me the girls are very worried, for many they do not and cannot take up refuge in the Thai slammer as they do this to feed themselves and their families!

Places like Jupiter and the Eden club will be shut down very soon, ole Marc might end up in the slammer himself, who knows.

The Thai government did a huge economic analysis and came up with the following numbers in the report my friend sent to me.

1. The sex industry accounts for approx. 5.5% of the Thai GDP. A study done over 3 years by the Thai government itself.

2. Due to Thailand being recognized openly as the Sex Mecca of the world, they feel and estimate they are decreasing (yes decreasing) there GDP, from tourism and being viewed by most of the world for accepting this trade openly by some 17-19. The article went on to say, that by closing down the sex industry in Thailand it would set things back for a maximum of 2 years and then they would reap huge rewards from foreign endorsements and growth by cleaning up their act. This would be in the tune of some 17-19% increase in GDP!

They are dead serious this go around. Many governments today are indeed deeply influenced by Women, therefore these same women will applaud when Thailand cleans up their house by offering support! Thailand knows this now!

They are also forming a huge task-force of some 1200 officers in Bangkok alone, for the sole purpose of closing down the sex industry for good! Yes, they even plan to imprison Farangs. Boys, you better go get that tang right away, it's about to loose it's juices!

I have to admit Stickman is a very talented columnist, with an amazing amount of creative ideas going into produce that product each week.

He's got a reference this week to Gary Pucket and the Union Gap's song "Woman, Woman" a song that I hadn't heard in years until he linked it, and I think it hits harder than "Young Girl", and as Stickman correctly points out has some relevance to Bangkok women. Of course its good in some ways that Bangkok women tend to share themselves around town, even those claiming not to. Everyone needs variety, and it really means more beautiful women available for everyone

On weekends I used to get breakfast at a diner between San Anselmo and Fairfax, CA. In the diner was a sign that read: "Kids, move out, get a job, support yourself now while you still know everything." Or words to that effect.
