I spent 2 nights here. I rarely came to this town since 5-6 years ago, for me I know the best times in BKK is done already. I checked out many of these famous establishments, Rainbow1, 2.4, very disappointed, out of 3 shops, I could not find anyone worth the mim 2000+600+ST room+drinks. Majority of girls are with artificial parts, boobs, nose, most obvious.
I played through late 90's till 06-07 in Bangkok, I know difference, people who frequent BKK through the late 90's and come back BKK today, I think it's going to be a disappointment. There are 10 times more venues for girls to work, and and the better economic progress, means more Thai guys can pick out the nice ones as mistresses or giks, and take them out of the market.
I remember the hey days over 15 years ago, when Nana ladies dance all nude to show their products and asked 1000 ST, and lots of quality to pick from, all give nice BBBJ, that is only a ghost memory now.
<snip
Time is changing to quick for me in this town, it will be just a transit town for me,
I will continue to sneak around off the beaten path for greener pastures.
Yes, Thailand's best days, P4P-wise, are behind her. At least as far as the average farang is concerned.
Let's face it. The main reason why anybody made the arduous trek from home to BKK was price and fun. Most of the girls were tons of fun to be around. They loved their sanuk, you could bye-tee-oh all over the place if you were so inclined, have outstanding GFE, all for $30 - $50 per day, plus expenses. We know that Thai girls, in general, aren't that great in the sack. But, since there is no such thing as bad sex, you can overlook that in light of the main reasons you're in BKK, i. e. price and fun.
Now the fun certainly has gone out of it to a large degree. Short time is the rule, not the exception. The prices now are hardly a bargain. There is really no reason to come to Thailand as a sex tourist.
However, let's put everything into perspective. I just returned from 10 days in Malaysia and Singapore. Let's examine those places for a minute.
P4P in MY is completely different. It seems far more oriented to massage. Certainly there are no go-go bars. All of the ladies I saw plying their trade in the evening around the hotels were ladyboys. Alcohol, as is expected in a Muslim country, is very expensive. What P4P was available, at least what I could find in the few days I was there, tended to be a massage with some sort of hanky-panky involved, for about 100RM, or about $35, or about 1,000 baht. Cheaper than BKK, but only just, and not nearly as much fun. If massage is your thing you'll probably be OK there, but Malaysia is hardly a P4P destination, IMHO.
Singapore was abso-fucking-lutely expensive. The massages I could find tended to be 50SGD for an hour, plus another 50SGD for a happy ending. Yes, I'm sure it could be found cheaper, but I could only get away so often. I hit Orchard Tower for a couple of hours, just for research. One place advertised Russian pole dancers. Beer was $10sgd for a mug (265-ish Baht). And these "Russian" (yeah, right) dancers gave their Thai sisters a run for their money in the buffalo shuffle. A larger bunch of uninspired dancers I've not seen outside of Thailand. I poked my head into most of the other places. All were staffed mostly by PH ladies, but it was dark and some may have been PRC. I wound up in Jamboree due to the country music. A large Tiger bottle was $16sgd (425-ish baht). All ladies were PH, a few were cute, and several not only were far past their sell-by date but were only about a 5 on their best day, probably during the Reagan administration.
The next night I stopped into a karaoke place near the hotel. Again, staffed by 100% PH. Most were incredibly average looking and chubby. Mug of Tiger $7sgd. The lady drinks were $30sgd (!) of which she gets half. Both ladies who glommed onto me told me that a PH lady could be had for no less than $300sgd. However, that was for all night and all day the next day if so inclined. Wheeeee. Now this is pretty much bottom of the barrel market, as far as I could tell. I know there are some high-end venues, but I think few on this board are oil sheiks.
Suddenly, 150 ($4.50usd) baht drinks and 2000 baht ($63 USD) liaisons don't look so bad.
My point is that, for the area and the times, Thailand isn't that bad. (Yes, damned with faint praise.) It's better than most of the places in SEA. Of course that may be like being the fattest Red Hot Chili Pepper. So, if you're here anyway, a relatively good time can be had in Thailand for less than you'd spend in many other countries in the area. But it's certainly no longer a P4P destination, IMHO. One can do better with some of the FKK clubs, or Mexico, or much of South America.
