Dancing style to me has little to do with the draw of looking at naked or near naked women, its the near 100% availability factor that I think adds to the sexual element. In advanced western countries strippers are (for the most part) generally just strippers. While expats and high frequency visitors tend to get very complacent about the sheer volume of girls available in Bangkok, its not the norm in the west, and in fact most western males are used to being in a sort of sex prison, and when they arrive in Bangkok, Go Go's are still a big deal.

Those in sex prisons are still willing to pay absurd amounts to buy sex. By the way here's latest "girl selling her virginity" auction. Bet you the high bidder is not Thai. The high bidder's (with $550,000 being offered) country of origin is not listed, but so far, bids have arrived from Serbia, USA, UK, Australia, and Japan, not surprising as nearly all are ballbusting areas. And Japanese love western blondes of course.

Ask yourself, what kind of hotties would ($550,000 U.S) $17,774,358.33 bahts in Bangkok currently buy? 11, 850 NPL girls for starters, or a lot higher quality elsewhere around town.

I am a aware of a girl recently scammed into going to the UAE to work supposedly in a restaurant. These scams get huge publicity on the TV.

Several persons told her not to go under any circumstances. She insisted she was going under her own arrangement to work in a friend's restaurant. She was lying (out of embarrassment). Now she calls back from UAE and admits she was duped just like we said from the start. I assume she is stuck in some brothel without her passport any more till some debt is paid off. I don't actually know all the fine details as its not a girl I know well. A friend of my GF's brother.

So even Thais get scammed. A Chiangmai girl arriving at Morchit bus station got scammed into paying a massive taxi fee to go to Bang Na too like 4 times the normal price. She simply could have insisted on the meter. So it is just dumb Farangs getting scammed.

I was thinking of doing SE Asia end of September to end of October. Start in BKK and probably hit Vietnam and the Philippines. I know it's hard to predict weather paterns. Especially nowadays. What can I expect. I'll go again in mid January but wanted to squeeze in a mid-year trip.

FN[/QUOTE]Expect rainy season in BKK at that time of the year. I do not know about Vietnman and Philippnes but there are often typhoons at that time of the year. They move quickly and hit different areas. Can just be rain or haevy rain, but certainlyit is not nice weather they bring along

I think their days are numbered.[/QUOTE]Agreed. There is little to no value for locals. It is simply theater and the addition of Coyotes has just reinforced that. Gawkers and neon abound. If it weren't for the fact that the Cowboy bars are separately owned shophouses, it would have been gone long ago. It sits on some of the most valuable land in the city. Patpong has the market, and tourists can shop and see the "girls." There really is no value for expats.
