Simply put, your options are limited for non-Chinese first time monger in Taipei.

1) Caesars - search for that in this forum. $4300 total, get a shower, get a girl, get a pop, leave.

2) Buy any English newspaper (Taipei Times, etc.), flip to the back pages. Look under "Services" and see plenty of "businessman massage" ads, oh by the way, those are all one owner so don't bother trying to play one against the other. Call them, ask for massage, they will quote you $5-6K, laugh and say "my friend said 3K" and they will say "ok ok, 3K", give them your hotel name, room, and real last name. They will call back to confirm you're real and no cop.

I really think as a beginner with no veteran to lead you personally these are safe bets for you. Don't go crazy and then get rob. KTVs are notorious for robbing ignorant mongers. I have known foreigners that paid 70K NTW and got nothing but a bunch of beers.

If they want you to deposit money in a bank first without the service it's a scam.

If you are answering an ad about a young pretty girl doing the massage but the phone voice on the other side sounds like a fat guy drinking beer, it's a scam.

If you want to play it extremely safe, look for ads by "Bao er" (the big wide eye girl), she's tested by my friend and proven legit.

If you don't have a manager, you need to get one to trust you first. Google search "Uniform Shop" (translate into Chinese, I can't type Chinese) on Taiwan search engines and you'll get a bunch of private webpages made by "managers" that all claimed to be able to deliver. Most are fine. Call or email them, and if they trust you enough they will send you a time and place to meet; if they don't trust you, they will ignore you.

Note that different manager have different pull at different places. Not all managers can take you to Emperor and since Emperor is the cream of the crop in KTVs I really doubt not many managers can. If you want to have fun at Emperor let me know by early July if you're still in Taipei, I'll be heading into Taipei then to do business for a week and maybe I can introduce you. But be prepare to spend around 20K (minimum) for fun and happy ending.

Room18 has more girls, but also more competition. Carnegies are less attractive since it seems dated compared to others, but still have good selection of girls, but you need to bring your A game.

The first operates in a unifiorm shop on Chung Hsiao across from Sogo Hsin Guan. The girls are what you would normally expect from an uniform shop in that they are mid to high end in terms of looks but still somewhat trashy. The thing I like most about this manager is that is is great at picking the right girls for a 3P. Price is around 20K for 1 girl and 40K for two 2 girls.

Uniform shops forget it. There are top notch girls there but like you say they are usually trashy. I stop playing there nowadays.

Casual shop girls are the maxims (though there are substandard girls there, but usually the girls are top notch.) The ones you mentioned are good, especially Long Heng. Emperor is at the intersection of Duan-Hua and Ba-De. Now, with Long Heng they will never admit the girls do take out, but for those prices the girls will usually do it with you if you are not a pig or a slob, but be a gentleman and they usually do it if you promise return business. HOWEVER, they are free to say no. I use to go there but I got a girl to say no to me once, and my manager say she can't do anything about it (my Long Heng manager is a female), and I was like, crap, I paid 30K + dinner + drinks + movie for nothing, never again, see ya Long Heng!

Emperor is a "dress shop" - i.e. they mix the best of uniform shops and casual dress shops. The girls are handpicked by quality like casual clothes shops, they wear dresses as uniforms like uniform shops, but you don't have to click a girl for the whole day like casual dress shop, but rather you have the option to buy them for minimum 4 hours (3 actual) like uniform shops, and FS can be pre-negotiated, pay for, and guaranteed (my favor part.) But they don't do hourly dances and they don't do anything special (HJ/BJ/FS) in the rooms, have to buy them out and do it outside.

I always thought casual stores had the best quality but felt that the effort to bed the top notch girls really took a disproportionate amount of effort vs other places. Think about it this way: if you buy them out for the entire night then they get around 8-10K into their pockets. If they go to bed with you then maybe it's another 8-10K. If you are a hot chick with some standards, and usually the top girls at the top places will be like that, you won't be jumping at every opportunity to go home with a guy, especially if he is some old and fat douche. For the girl's perspective, if you don't like the guy you can just work an additional night for the same money. Whereas compared to a KTV in Beijing or Shanghai where the sitting fee is RMB 600 and the take out fee is RMB 3000, it really is worth it from a returns perpspective for the girl to go the extra mile.

Don't get me wrong, I have managed to bed a high percentage of the really hot girls who say they are not for take out. That being said it only happened about 75% of the time on the first night with some taking a lot more work. With those odds it almost seems better to hit Primo or 18 to try your luck, which as you know in TW can be pretty good if you are relatively young, not ugly and a nice guy.

Thanks a lot ABC boy. I really appreciate your help. I ended up going to Carnegies and although there were plenty of girls, lot of them seemed to belong to some sort of a gang.

Like it seemed there were a few older ladies that had a bunch of younger girls attached to them or maybe operate for them. I don't know. I ended up dancing with many of the girls and spoke to a few and got their phone number but none of them seemed to be eager to continue the night somewhere else. Maybe I have to give them a call and sass them out.
