1) You have to pay at the pharmacy to see him. Its about 380 pesos. The strange thing is they won't accept payment until after his office opens at 10 am.

2) If you get there at 9:59 am, you'll be the first to see him. If you there at 10:01 am, there will be a line. Happened twice.

3) Bring your passport.

4) Results in 10 min.

5) After he gives you your certificate he will tell you to go back to the pharmacy and get it stamped.

6) Walk to Av Chapu & drink a beer or tequila!

There is a super hot hostess at one of the bars on av chapu. Wonderful personality. Speaks a little English. From Sayulit. Very nice young lady.

Stopped by thrice for drinks. On my way out I say bye to her and pass her a big bill while shaking her hand. You know the minimum wage is 150 pesos a day (US $8)?

I had a 4:00 pm Alaska Air flight back to CA. Frickin' Alaska at GDL doesn't provide online check-in so I added that additional time into my calcs.

Arrived at the testing facility (2nd floor of the garage) at 2-ish.

2:16 PM. Scanned the QR Code and registered online then proceeded to stand in line. Hot chick manned the line. Wondered to myself if I could convert her to sugaring LOL.

2:29 PM. Got tested. Not too deep. Proceeded to waiting area. Was told it would take 25 min.

2:55 PM. Started to panic bc I had to check in my bag since I had packed tequila and knew most airlines have a one-hour cutoff so left and went to Alaska Air. No line! They told me I needed to have neg test results for check in and that I had until 3:10 to check in my bag. Brisk walk back to testing facility.

3:03 PM. Arrived at testing facility. Another line. Slow. I pondered giving my tequila away since I couldn't miss flight (work neat day).

3:07 PM. Received neg result. Sprinted to Alaska Air.

3:09 PM. Arrived at Alaska Air. Goddamnit. Four old women in line with massive amount of suitcases.

3:16 PM. Checked in at counter. They accepted bag. I figured my bag would miss my flight and I'd have to pick it up another day.

Later. I arrived at CA city and holy fuck, my bag made it.

Next time I'll see my doc the day before.

You are greeted at the front and given a ticket. You watch the monitor for your number to be assigned to one of the teller booths. At the booth, they take information from you and they ask for your passport. Then you go to another room where they will call you in for the test. They conduct the test in a few minutes. They stick it up your nose a bit but it is tolerable.

For me, they told me to go to the website and enter my ID number and password on the receipt to get the results. When my friend did it, they told him the same thing. I am not sure why they switched from WhatsApp notification but that is the way it happened for me. It is easy to go to the website and download the test results. No problems at the airport.

That being said, there was a QR Code with my results, so if they wanted to do their due diligence, they could have by verifying with the QR code.

My test was done by a doctor associated with next door pharmacy. She used a home test kit, waited 10 minutes and printed out the results for me along with an email. 600 pesos.

Honestly the gate agents don't give a damn. If you follow this story, airport gate agents are resentful that they have to be the front line enforcing US government policy. They're not trying to make it harder on themselves.

I have used a service in GDL that comes to your door to do your test. It's 900 pesos plus I tip 100. A little more expensive, but they literally come to your door, do the test, wait around for the results, and email then to you on the spot. No waiting in lines.
