I won't deny, it's a bit of a pain in the ass to book things. For internal flights, you can use a Dubai-based website called city. Travel. It's legit. You pay in AED with your international card and they get you the ticket. It's instant, they don't manually buy it for you.

For hotels, I booked on Ostrovok / Zenhotels (it's the same website / company, but Zenhotels is for western audience) and I chose apartments that didn't require prepayment. I thought I got around it but nope, I soon received emails asking me to prepay the first night. With one company, they agreed to wait till I was in Russia, they just asked me to show my visa and flights tickets. But in Sochi, they asked me to prepay the first night or they would cancel. I have russian friends so I asked for one to make the payment for me and then I asked the company to return this amount when I went there and paid the whole price in cash.

That's still not enough if you want to enjoy time with girls there, as many of them will ask you for a prepayment. It's very common in Russia to avoid time wasters. They give you a card number and in Russia, you can instantly transfer money between cards (yes, cards). It's most often like 1/3 of the agreed price, but some legit girls ask for full price. I didn't have one single bad experience over this so it's alright. But obviously you need a russian card as even before sanctions, it's possible to send money with a VISA / Mastercard card. The best (and only) choice right now is to get a Tinkoff debit card once you're in Russia. They have english speaking staff (on the phone) and they'll deliver the card directly to your apartment / hotel via a courier who will take pictures of your passport, and you with the card. Quick and easy. And then since Tinkoff has been sanctionned recently, you can only topup via cash in ATM machines they have in Moscow which you can find in the app. The app is in russian though so you need to find how to send money from it.

All in all, it's clearly not as easy as just hoping to dubai and hitting one of the clubs but there is so much choice, the girls are so hot and with current ruble value, the pricing is good. I'll go back in December I hope.
