Most soapies are 3 to 8 km north of the city, on Petchaburi Road, Rama 9 (Amsterdam being one), and around Huai Khwang (Ratachada) and all 3 have subway stops, however in practical terms only Ratchada is very easy to navigate from place to place via walking once you get there.
Since you are at Soi 15 you simply have to walk over to the Sukhumvit MRT station (at Terminal 21 Mall) and take the subway (MRT) 4 stops (and 8 minutes) up to Huai Khwang Station in Ratchada. In that general vicinity you will see Alaine, Emmanuelle, Hi Class, Poseidon (toward Susthian Station), Colonze, The Lord, Nataree and others.. One tricky thing for walkers though is at certain times you may need to use the Huai Khwang Station pass through to cross that intersection (diagonally or directly) as otherwise its very difficult.
One of the benefits of having these soapies close to together is that (lets say after 5 pm) one can easily check out inventories, to see what's available or what the papasans say s/b arriving that evening.
Now in theory you can do the (walk and check out) technique down at Petchaburi Road, and Rama 9 but walking place to place to place is far more difficult in those locales.

landed in bkk in the morning of the first day and went through security without issues, fetched the bag and headed to the

Thailand is still Third World, technically that is. For those who don't know, First World was always the major economic powers, second world was the old Soviet Block countries, and everything else was third world. I get the point of the discussion, and don't want to flame anyone, just saying. The world doesn't look at it like this anymore. They discuss in terms of G8 (now G7) and Emerging markets, etc. Thailand is an emerging market I would classify now.
I love Thailand and have been going for almost 3 decades and it has come a long way.
