Part of my trip overlaps with the 20 July election date (I fly out on Sunday the 20th) so I was thinking it might be a good sign that they were potentially not going to have the election. But martial law? This won't apply to soi4 or NEP or the soapies and oilies, right?

Very concerned about this martial law situation. I am coming there on June 27 and plan to leave July 6th. Anyone in Bangkok / Pattaya these days. How is the mongering scene affected. Who knows how far back. I'll be in town from early June to the beginning of July. I'm not changing my travel plans; and I'm not worried about my safety. Stay away from the protests. Don't do anything stupid like walking around wearing a yellow or red t-shirt. Lower Sukhumvit and the areas where the oilies are located will probably be safe. But what the hell do I know?

DAY ONE.
Just a two day layover so no time to waste.
I got to the hotel, it's a new one for me, never been there before. It's at the river so it's far from all the action. The hotel looks great though but because of the location I would never stay there myself.
I do the whole switch rooms again, since I'm directly next to a coworker. Can't have that so I wait until everyone leaves and I switch rooms.
