Ngong Hills Hotel Vs. Fairview Hotel
I am considering booking the Ngong Hills Hotel for my trip to Nairobi in August. Usually I stay at Fairview Hotel, which is very GFE (especially if you book First Class Rooms. They are located separately from the main building, far away from reception, so no "walk of shame", no registration or whatever).
However, Fairview Hotel is not the cheapest one (but excellent value for money). If you are on a business trip and your company pays for it, book First Class Room at Fairview Hotel and you are lucky.
Ngong Hills Hotel could be an interesting altenative to Fairview Hotel. Website looks nice and prices much lower than Fairview Hotel.
Guys, please share your experiences with Ngong Hills Hotel!
Thanks
Massage update and ISO info Oasis Dreams Spa?
Greetings to the board,
I am sorry to say that I have no experience with Ngong Hills Hotels.
I came across an Nairobi based spa called Oasis Dreams that requires a membership fee but is short on what those membership priveledges include - not sure if it is a scam. Has anyone used them?
I also made a massage spa visit to a place in Westlands Arcade that I would not recommend. Lousy massage, expensive, and not very friendly service even with my attempts at making small talk and charm. It was a Sunday afternoon so not sure if that is a factor with not much open.
Still looking for any recommendations for GFE massage - any suggestions out there? PM with details.
Cheers
MD
Seeking advice on securing Nairobi accommodation for 6 months
Sorry that this is a question as opposed to information on the mongering scene. I'm planning to live in Nairobi for 6 months and am seeking advice on finding cheap accommodation for 6 months. What would be the monthly cost of getting a guesthouse that has a bathroom and running water and electricity most if not all the time or for renting a 1 bedroom flat? You can private message me to not waste space in this forum. I know from living in Ghana the challenge is finding the 'local' price instead of the 'foreign' price and having to avoid paying all 6 months up front. Any advice/contacts/websites/ would be greatly appreciated.
If I do make it to Nairobi I promise to make a contribution.
Visiting Nairobi -- advice?
I will be in Nairobi early May for business. I'm staying at Hilton Hotel and was wondering if it's girl friendly place? Could you share girls contact details as well or best places to meet easy going ones?
It would be nice to meet some buddies as well! Anybody up for a beer on Sunday May 3?
Thanks
