I know BB's gets a lot of repeat visits so they must be doing something right. But its up to you to make your vacation as fun as YOU want. If you want stay on the grounds and do nothing but drink and bang chicas. You can do that. If you want to explore and leave, go to Sosua, Puerto Plata, rent a car, go on a tour, whatever, you can do that. Why do other people care about what other people are doing, as long as you are having fun. Who gives a shit. If you try a place, and you don't like it don't go back. But maybe someone else may enjoy it.

I spent 7 days recently in the beautiful resort of Blackbeards. I had a fantastic time. I was greeted by name by a few girls when I walked in for registration, so that was cool. Especially since I haven't been there since January. I felt like Norm at cheers.

This was my first time visiting BB's during the low season, and it was a little different. First, not as many guests. Kind of slow for the girls, so they work harder for your attention. That was both good and bad. The best style of room IMO. Very comfortable. Air, Cable, WiFi were all excellent by DR standards. The pool is still awesome (and the girls got in the pool sometimes. Also a product of the hot weather). Tim and Nico were top notch. They lined me out with cabs when I needed them, laundry, etc. The mama-sans are stellar. I believe they are the reason the girls are so awesome in terms of friendliness and overall attitude.

I ain't going to lie. I spent a lot of cash down there. I was very generous with the girls as far as spending time with them, drinks, etc. And I try to tip the staff well, even though they include some tipping on your bills. But I do alright for myself financially, and I brought the money down there to spend and treat everyone right. I was very happy with my stay and I believe in rewarding good service.

Overall, Awesome time. The place fits what I like perfectly. My next trip to the DR will most likely be a Sosua / BB's combo trip for a change of pace. But I'll do another long visit soon enough.

The ride from the airport to BB only took about 20 minutes (not including the beer break). My first thoughts were a bit disappointing as I only spotted a few chicas as I walked thru the bar to the reception counter. After getting unpacked I opted for a short power nap. After breakfast did a ST, packed up and then traveled via private driver to Sosua. Cost was 2,000 p.

Some random thoughts about BB's.

This is not a brand new shiny resort, but in general it is well maintained. They were doing some improvements while I was there (one night they were grinding out the grout between the tiles in the bar area; went on to a little past 1 am; was rather annoying). I stayed in the Jacuzzi room. The room is large, but I never actually used the Jacuzzi. I started to fill it up, but due to low water pressure I figured it would take a few hours. In addition, the tub also doubles for where you shower; the water drains slow (if take a longer shower the water will come up to your ankles) and leaves quite a bit of soap scum on the tub. As I started to fill the Jacuzzi the soap scum formed a layer on top of the water; not something I wanted to bathe in, so I just gave up on the idea. The bed was large and comfy, there's a good sized safety box in the closet, a fully stocked mini-bar / fridge (don't remember who posted, but mine did have some candy bars, LOL).

The staff was always friendly and helpful. Service at both the bar and resto was top notch. The girls were also friendly and not pushy about servicing you or about buying them drinks. However, if you did get one of them a drink they were very appreciative. I also bought dinner / breakfast for a few of them (we ate together) and without exception the girls would share whatever was left over with the other girls. Like any other work place the girls had their own little cliques, but I did not detect any animosity between them; not once did any staff member or chica have anything bad to say about BB's or each other.

As far as looks are concerned, the 20+ chicas who work there range IMHO from 3's to 8's, from light to dark and from thin / curvy to quite chubby, but as tastes are highly subjective I can only suggest you go there for yourself and decide. I will add that that the girls look much better in person then in most of the pics in BB's newsletter. I almost didn't even recognize one chica I was with whose pic was in a recent newsletter (Bikini contestant). Talk to the mamas an, she knows her girls, keeps them in line and can probably (within reason) accommodate any special requests.

I know some will argue that there's no challenge, no "thrill of the hunt" or maybe they might even be afraid of not finding a girl they like, but for me, after coming off a grueling 14 week work contract, it was exactly the type of place I needed and the selection of girls did not disappoint me. I don't know why the management do not rip it out. They could put in a sex chair instead if they need a special feature as an excuse to charge more.

I have stayed there twice and have no desire to go again. The girls were fine but not outstanding. What I did not like is the girls are a captives. 10% of the girls get 90% of the action. Most seem very disinterested. As soon as you get a nut they are putting their panties back on looking for the next guy. Usually there 2 or 3 nice girls out of the 20. The 8 or 9 guys in the place are all trying to get the same girls. However when I get to the point where I can no longer have swag BB might be the place. Rumbas has 3 times the girls on Monday that BB has on a Saturday night.

But your comment, while true, is not very helpful. Averages are not relevant in this comparison. Let us say, hypothetically, that:

Blackbeards has 10 "8"s, 10 "7"s, 10 "6"s, and 10 "5"s. Total: 40 chicas.

Sosua has 10 "9"s, 25 "8"s, 40 "7"s, 40 "6"s, 40 "5"s, 40 "4"s, 40 "3"s. Total: 235 chicas.

Blackbeards would clearly have the higher average quality, as you rightly claim. But that is irrelevant, because Joe Monger will simply ignore everything below "7"s in both places. All that matters to him is that there is a greater choice of "7"s and above in Sosua.

Both places have their advantages depending upon the monger's budget, mobility, street smarts, and (above all) knowledge of Spanish. But quality of chica should not decide his choice of venue.

We are all different in our resources and requirements. Much as I admire Blackbeards, I would never take a chica from there. Why? Because I only go with haitianas and there have been none there for the past several years. Not an issue for 98% of you, but as I say, we all have our peculiarities.
