As it turned out, I called a Tour Girl to my room at the Astir Palace. Her name was Grace, and I asked about her a few posts down (#275).

I told her to dress smartly, as I didn't think any respectably dressed woman would have any problems getting into the hotel.

After 20 minutes had passed after the agreed time, she still hadn't shown up.

So I texted her. She said she had waited outside the hotel for 10 minutes and then left after I didn't answer any of her calls.

The only problem was that I had my phone with me all the time and she never called me. I told her this.

She responded later in the evening and said she had made a mistake and that instead of calling me, she had been calling [b]her UK mobile[/b] when she was outside the hotel.

She said she was very sorry, and asked me if we could reschedule. I told her it was my last night in Athens, and I'd have to pay a late checkout if she was to come back to my room the next day (I couldn't leave the hotel). So I suggested we come to an arrangement over the later checkout fee.

She never responded.

So as it was my last night, I left Athens very disappointed.

And I'm none the wiser about whether the Astir can be girl friendly.

It's a nice hotel though.
