Call me an old romantic, but all these sad, horror stories of busted relationships reminds me that, despite their many attractions, most Filipinas are, at heart, materialistic, lying, manipulative, scheming b*tches and that those guys that follow the 3 'F' mantra tend to fare the best.

A lot of you guys have been mongering in PH for a long time and have had partners / wifes from there so the last few posts have been very interesting. Some of the advice and insight is just amazing, it is I guess what makes this board so addictive.
I think the most common problem for failed relationships here is that some people just don't understand the PH culture and are trying hard to impose western values without giving much though as to PH values and way of life.
Also the fact that 90% of the punters I have meet in PH leave way beyond their means for those 2-3 weeks there doesn't help. God knows how many 2 week millionaires I have meet. Your future partner sees that and expects similar lifestyle for the rest of her life with you. So before she marries you she goes and tells her family that she meet this foreigner who spends 10. 20K peso a night and stays in this beautiful hotel and how he will take care of her. Then she comes to a foreign country and reality sets in quickly. Yes its still a lot better from home and they are adaptable little creatures but is it what you promised her is it what she thought it was going to be?
People that have been in previous relationships and have read the advice here should not fall into the traps ever again. Just be honest. Tell her the truth of your situation, seat down with her and do the numbers. Teach her. Explain to her what you can do and what you can't. If you are going to spend the rest of your life with that person then honesty, trust and understanding needs to happen way before you walk the isle.

If from a poor family all girls will jump on the chance. Failed marriages has nothing to do with the money issue. Like all marriages love can go out of the window, the girl may find somebody etc.
Ofcourse Phi girls will not marry somebody who does not have any money. Why would they want more suffering in their life?
Although I have not married any Phi girls I have had long term relationships. For the guys who got married and took the girls to their own country, my advice will be just divorce them but do not send them back to Phi. After all she did give you some love and affection even if it did not work for long time.

I get all "the" "3" and "rule" highlight. Since I am newbie what am I doing wrong with search? How do I pull up threads where this term was discussed?

Although I was married to an American lady, my marriage and divorce story is quite similiar to yours. I don't think that many things in your story has much of anything to do with the Philippines or the fact that you married a Pinay. The ugly fact is that divorces in the US are often very nasty. There is a huge cottage industry around it. (from lawyers that drag it out as long as they can to drain your bank account, to mediators, social workers, parenting evaluators and so on) that have vested interest in prolonging the whole thing. Given that many people are vindictive, issues tend to pop up many years after a divorce like your is doing by asking for the equity in you home.
Just be glad that you didn't have kids that she'd use to get back at you every time she damn pleases. Like mine does. You'd be amazed at the shit a woman can come up with to try to make your life as miserable as hers. Want to go away alone on vacation to somewhere (say Cebu)? Make sure your kids never has any hint of it or you'd be back in front of a judge for some emergency bullshit that will ultimately be thrown out-but you will spend $3K plus in legal fees. [No kidding! ]

However, care must be taken not only in how the instrument is drafted, but the manner in which it is executed. If you have some Filipino lawyer draft the agreement, and tell your fiancee to "just sign it," chances are it won't be enforceable.
Similarly, even here in the states, if you get some online form, or even get a lawyer to draft the agreement, and simply have her sign it (even with a notary) , it may be unenforceable if it is inherently unfair or if it appears that she didn't understand it, or if she wasn't given an opportunity to obtain legal advice before signing it. I've blown plenty of prenups out of the water by showing either substantive or procedural unconscionability. So, in this regard, do it right or proceed at your own peril.

They are common in all women, even those in the United States and Europe. A case in point, I had a Latin American girl give me an ultimatum. Marry her or she would find someone more inclined to think with their little head. I said ho I'm married to the game. So she did a lot of crying and said I was forcing her into the arms of another and how deeply it hurt to love one unwillingly to return that love in the form of a legally binding contract. It was some shit that should be written down in a Harlequin romance novel on unrequited love. Then she informed me that some other guy had been asking her to fuck and he was quite insistent so she would give him a chance because he promised her a formal relationship. So, I released the ho from all of her obligations, toasted to her future and gave her my blessings with a few words of wisdom. I would have been paying for the purchase of a house for her and her new husband. The money had to go directly to her sister of course because she was no longer using her maiden name but she could not tell me that in the event I'the been dumb enough to agree to Western Union the money. So you see Filipinas are not the only materialistic, lying, manipulative, scheming little cunts at heart. Anyone fucking hoes worldwide soon realizes that this is female nature around the globe. The stakes are higher in some places than others and odds may favor one sex over another but the fundamentals remain the same. This is why taking a Filipina or any other nationality back to your Western country repeatedly ends in disaster. On the moon a man can lift a very large rock because of lower gravity. If he were to take that same rock back to Earth he'the find it difficult or impossible to lift it because of the increased gravity on Earth. It's the same with taking Filipinas to the United States or Europe. Ultimately the local forces in their new environment will act on them causing them to behave much like that rock.
The marriages between American men and Filipinas that I have seen remain intact for any length of time involved a lot of hands on management on the guy's part. The wife would be required to hand over a predetermined amount of her income if she worked. She would have to be home soon after work and socializing outside of the home without her husband wasn't allowed. The wife always treated the husband with obvious respect in public. The husband didn't hesitate to check the wife on the spot if he caught her slipping. In essence the husband played a strict paternalistic role towards the wife even where little to no age difference existed. Of course, American women all said that these guys were mean controlling assholes.

A foreigner in the Philippines does not have to flash any cash, or show off with a "fancy" hotel room for the locals to assume he is rich. I'm sure that every guy that has spent any amount of time in the country has heard someone that does not even know them state "He can afford it. He's an (insert nationality here)." I can't count how many times I have heard those phrases. And I have not been there nearly as often as many members of this board. A previous Filipina gf once told me that all Filipinos believe that anyone, even another Filipino, that has been living abroad, is rich. Same for me: I prefer the pinays in HK because most of them are a bit better educated, they have a bit more maturity and having seen another country has opened up their minds.
