with due respect, if you even went in one of those scam places you are still a newbie yourself in london. those places are to be avoided like the plague, but sunset strip is legitimate and totally different. you can see in the glass window, you can go up to the guy and confirm that once you buy your ticket that is all you have to pay for. there is no requirement to buy a drink. the ladies don't 'come and see you' - they perform on the stage to music, choreographed. at busy times the show is continuous. at quieter times there's a few minutes no more between shows. don't take my word for it, check the address very carefully, then put your head inside the front door, no further, until you have reassured yourself it is not a scam job. the place has been running for years and it's licensed and quite safe. if i remember rightly (someone confirm) you can maybe still use the same ticket all day - go in, watch a show, go for lunch, come back, bag a seat near the front if you want.
