I think Frannie's take is about half right. If you know the language going in, you can spend a lot more time fucking hookers without getting bored. You can evaluate them much more easily, and relate to them in and out of bed much better. You can sort out the fuck puppets from the fuck buddies from the favoritas. I spent two years in Buenos Aires before I started doing things like taking side trips, getting involved in the community, and so forth. All I did was fuck hookers and non-hookers. At one point while I was living with the family, bringing water up from the street, letting it sit overnight so at least it wasn't freezing when you poured the plastic basin over your head in the morning for a shower. There is more to a zoo than a freakin reptile house. Why do German families go there? Why do Dominican families go there? I like Sosua. After the 1st day with travel and activities I was tired in the morning. My girl left 4 am and I had a hard time getting back to sleep. Just to be clear. Although I love to incorporate a little mongering into my travels, my mongering days are mostly behind me, so my "expertise" is very limited. Traveled with a buddy to Sosua for 3 days, followed by a 1-week stay in Lifestyle Tropical in Puerto Plata, purely for R & R.

I'm not a fancy-pants, but I love to enjoy the place where I stay. We booked a 2-bdrm ocean-front penthouse in Charamicos, which was fantastic. It was fancy enough that I got concerned about their guest policy upon arrival, but there weren't any issues if you don't count cedula-checking. I don't mind that extra security layer, at all.

Our unit was very comfortable and had the views to die for. It was a 10-minute walk to the beach. The complex has a nice infinity pool, which we had fully to ourselves. The place is not ideal for mongering, though, it's far enough (300 pesos for a cab) from the action.

We met our first lay after dining at the Bourbon Street. That Haitian girl was quiet and polite and she asked for 1,500. I knew I had to have her. Unfortunately, so did my buddy, so for the next 15 minutes we're walking the streets, looking for a companion for him, and he throws them all back in. Then Jaymee (or something like that) suggests she'll fuck both of us, and off we go.

The streets were filled with walking girls, but cops were everywhere, too. Saw one girl taken away, but she didn't seem too upset. I don't know how they decide which girl to pick, because there are hundreds of them walking the streets undeterred.

Contrary to some previous reports I read, I noticed that the girls weren't overly aggressive, and they wouldn't approach me unless I look at them directly and smiled. Maybe it was the fat, ugly me or maybe the abundance of cops. Or maybe slow weekdays, I don't know, but it's hard to imagine not being able to find someone to your liking. It's a fun town. Not too much to do, but a nice beach, cheap prices, and hordes of chicas (even if many are undoable) must count for something.

That concludes my Sosua trip report. Next time will go alone, I think, since my buddy is even a lesser monger than I am. Maybe I'll get bored enough and get more action next time.

I have been leary about going because the beaches in Puerto Plata are shit. She assured me that the beach on that resort is better. Besides that, when we went to ask about prices the lady told me $80 and said it would cost more for her because she is Dominican. $200/day for a shitty beach when the nice one in Sosua is free is not something I would consider.
