But Mamasan demanded the cost of my drink from my friend once more time. And even whether me nor my friend gav any ladydrink, Mamasan demanded 120 baht for the beer she drank.
So I will say: Avoid "Mr. Krit Beer Bar" whereever you see in Pattaya.[/QUOTE]
Your friend should have just told bar personnel that he was not that familiar with you and that he certainly was not going to pay your bar tab. This play is probably better for an expat who speaks Thai....but the rip offs continue as long as tourists just pay not to cause trouble.

you have an amazing medical service , most of the hospitals are in the forefront and if u don't trust bangkok pattaya hospital (like me) u can always go to the near bangkok in bumrungrand hosp.or bnh ,etc.etc....
about the "toghness" to have a lt relationship i agree that it's just a question of money (since it's clear that we are mongers and we don't need any serious bs relationship). if you're looking for a lt relationship in places like soi 6 ,walking street or soi bowkao giving 500/1000 baht for a shot you will get surely disappointed. show the girl you're able to spend at least 2 or 3000 a day for her and she won't make any problem to stay with you (then there always a kind of like/dislike factor).

still hung-over (or food-poisoned from street-stall oysters) on my arrival late last night, i only managed a stroll from my hotel down beach road and along walking street. got a bit of food and watched the crowds, and watched the police trying to rep001ter the crowds with loud-speakers at 3:00am. the lbs were persistent and didn't budge when ordered. walking back long the beach promenade, there were many girls offering their company - not very attractive. i was offered very young girls by mamasans - definitely jail-bait. there were various dodgy guys offering dope and cocaine. lots of spaced-out guys also - some following me occasionally and coming up to me speaking english-like gibberish before i firmly told them to move away. be careful.

I agree with most of your report with the exception of the above statement. You do realize that there are no “completely safe” destinations anywhere in the world. Considering the composition of its inhabitants and guests, coupled with the crime rate, I would classify Pattaya as being relatively safe. The crime rate in Pattaya is real, robberies, burglaries, assaults, homicides and petty crimes are not uncommon but if you keep your wits about you and don't go looking for trouble, you can have the time of your life. Comparatively speaking, Pattaya is still a (monger’s) paradise despite the "Chicken Little" cries heard here as of late.

That was nearly 4:00am on the dark beach road last night. Now it's 11pm, and completely different. I'm wandering around Beach Road and Second Street - and all the sois in between - lots of tourist families and singles walking around, shops open and bright. Just popped into an internet cafe to cool down and drink a carrot juice - good for the liver!
Gotta say some of the scandinavian and Russian tourist girls wandering around in pairs are looking very tempting. My middle-age fantasy-theory is that because there's an over-supply of Thai girls available for small money, the tourist girls cannot get laid, so they will happily respond to my romantic advances. I'll test that theory a little later tonight. :)

I definitely second that opinion (except maybe the point about mongerer homicides being common?). Compared to other mongering destinations I have been to, one really has to do something really really dumb, or have some extraordinary bad luck, to get into trouble in Pattaya. Some of the things I have seen farangs do in terms of acting up, being drunk, disrespecting locals, would have gotten them a beating or maybe even stabbed or shot in other places.
Sure there are the ladyboys, pick pockets, petty thiefs, petty drug dealers, but other places have kidnappings, police shoot outs, violent gangs, and so on which Pattaya (IMHO) doesn't have any of.
The most likely source of trouble is probably drunk knuckle dragger farangs that will try to pick a fight, but there are so many cops around that this isn't really an issue either, again IMHO.
Sure Pattaya has some minor safety issues, but nothing worse than walking the streets of any city late at night I would have to say.
No reason to let your guard down completely, but all I do is keep an eye on my belongings, keep a bit of "small money" in my pocket and "big money" in my shoe, and calmly keep walking if approached by a ladyboy or drug dealer/user. (It is much harder to pickpocket/rob a moving target.) I also try to avoid being completely drunk and roaming aimlessly from bar to bar late at night also, although this isn't always a success...

100% agree. That's pretty much what I meant, though also meant that it's just so in your face in Pattaya that there is zero illusion that it is anything other than "paying them to leave". I suppose I like the illusion, even though I also like to get rid of them, usually fairly quickly :)

I assure you, money was not at all the issue - I paid over market rates and would have gladly paid more for better experiences. Vibing with the girls, however, was a big issue. I found Pattaya girls to be too hardened for my taste. That's kind of a duh comment, I realize.
I also wasn't saying there aren't tons of other things to do in Pattaya (there most certainly are!) - but limiting the scope to the sex scene I was trying to distinguish the type of EXPERIENCE one has with the girls in Pattaya versus other mongering destinations. To me Pattaya breaks down like this:
1. A good place to have as much cheap sex as possible, and some pretty wild sexual experiences.
2. The sex scene, though massive, is very homogenous - despite the many options for places to meet girls, it all feels very much the same after a few days...primarily because the girls tend to be (and say and do) all the same (things).
Therefore, personally I found it quite monotonous and cold/lonely after a few days, especially compared to other places.
YMMV, as may your preferences.
