I can't speak really about foreigners or language as I speak Deutsch passably. But I would say this. Berlin is one of the most open, tolerant cities around. North German culture itself is a little clipped, and reserved, especially with strangers. It is not a service / consumer culture where complete strangers earnestly ask you are and wish you to have a nice day, etc. At higher volume hours, things possibly get abrupt. I posted on this earlier (with a slightly misspelled title). IMHO this is just not true. There are some minor differences of opinion here but it is not a damning verdict. If you look at the vK home page website, at the bottom, it is available in no less than 4 other European languages. Now let us ponder-why would they do that? Why of course. To scare off the ferners. In my experience, Brits, French, Spanish and Swiss residents are all suspicious and somewhat hostile to foreigners and I'm sure that the same applies to other nationalities with whom I am not quite so familiar.

German prefer other Germans to foreigners. This is entirely natural and common. I suspect that this 'discrimination' applies to a slightly greater degree in the Pay-For-Sex world than it does elsewhere for understandable reasons. The Germans have a liberated view towards prostitution that does not manifest itself to an equal degree elsewhere in Europe. If you work in the sex trade in Berlin, either as a prostitute or in management, you would have reasonable grounds to suppose that a German national is more likely to be respectful to working girls and generally 'cool' about interacting with prostitutes than any randomly-selected foreigner.

I generally rate my experiences from 1 to 10 but after thinking about it, I would say they all fall into only three categories:
