Often the girls are the same, but you can't check chemistry and so on till you meet them.

Selecting in real pays back more (mistakes can also happen there, of course) than checking pictures and putting questions online and that will get the reply you want.

One never showed up on our date, one other lived too far away to meet, but we are still in contact after these many years. Two others I met (and had sex with on the first night) and one of them is now my Thai GF. All were well educated (at least bachelor degree) and holding a regular job.

So for me DIA is a 50% hit rate with a 25% lasting success.

I understand that some gogo bars do not allow Indians (ActionOriented posted about his experirnce at Rainbow 4). I am actually British but of Indian origin. Would be very helpful to know what gogo bars do allow Indians so I don't need to go through what AO did. I am looking to gogo bars in NEP and Soi Cowboy as I am staying in that area.

I'm a pretty good reader of the forum; however I've noticed less and less news about Soi 33. I know its not the favourite on this board because of price and also a lack of structure. I've also read Stickmans views on the street.

But I like it as.

Its not structured I can enjoy Thailand in one street. The fantastic sports bar (office and tenderloins), proper massages (cefle), a new thai restaurant and they have a few oilys as well and a bar that I used to go to frequently (Napoleon).

Is there any other street like Soi 33 in Bangkok. That is relatively quiet and not screaming sex shops or massage places? Problem is that I usually travel with people who are not very happy with mongering so I have to be discreet in bringing girls back. Staying in Soi 29 or 31 means we have some really good hotel (S31 or Legacy Suites) or even Emporium Suites. The non-mongers are happy since its close to the sky train and the mongers have Soi 33.

If there is no other street (I know the area around Annies is also decent for non-mongers) could someone recommend another bar on Soi 33 besides Napoleon?

Bars in Cowboy are more receptive compared to NEP.

Anyway I think your overtipping at least if you go to shops outside Sukhumvit or Silom area and the fact that you already do it for a long period doesn't it make any better. But tipping at a massage can't be generalized. I haven't been to a massage shop in Bangkok for many years, so I don't know anything about the prices there.

I usually go to massage shops in Pattaya. If I get pedicure or a (one hour) foot massage I give 40 THB tip, no girl ever blinked an eye, no girl ever complained, they all smiled and were happy when I came back for another massage. When I take a (legit) 2 hours oil massage I give between 100 THB and 200 THB tip, mainly because the girls have to work much harder to earn their money from the shop. And again they are all happy and love to see me back at the shop the other day.

I don't think that my way is the right way for everyone, but I'm a firm believer in the fact that the tip should usually be in a reasonable relation to what the people earn. If I eat a steak in a restaurant for 30 $ I also don't give 15 $ tip just because the waitress salary is so low. And yes, there are for sure execeptions from this rule, but this needs truely outstanding services. At least for me that never happened so far at a massage shop.

And again this is just my personal opinion and my preferences. Everyone is free to do things differently.

Although I faced an issue at CrazyHouse (in SC), I hear that if you are travelling alone or entering alone, they do not have a problem in allowing you to enter. I was with a friend and was turned away.

Whilst in Bangkok, definitely visit Baccara (although some girls here might not be willing to go with Indians, but they are pretty and worth watching) and Suzie Wong, least discriminatory IMO.

If you were heading to Pattaya, you may need to avoid the Happy group Go-Gos like Baccara, Peppermint, Happy A Go Go.

[/QUOTE]Its worth noting that Japanese are the most favoured customers in Crazy House. One was behaving extremely badly and should have been thrown out and banned but was not. So discrimination occurs for sure.

In Crazy House, some girls are worth looking at, but very few are worth bar fining. Mostly very poor on the bed even when a relatively sweet girl. Mostly too young and too inexperienced or have wrong attitudes. Suzie Wong is a much better place for getting girls. I have had fun with quite a number of girls from here, and very few bad ones (although favourite staff advice helps).

Chemistry matters, girl's mood, willingness to have fun, ability, and amount being paid matters too. YMMV.

In general, I don't like the looks of the plastic highly modified girls in Bacarrat and Sharks. They don't look like real Thais. Some look like LBs. This is not the case in CH or SW.

SunLover.[/QUOTE]Sorry but I think you do not understand. There is no great problem with over tipping with most Thai people, although they may merely think you are crazy if really large amount. "Too much" merely means you accidentally paid more than what the expected fee was. Unlikely to be interpreted at as a tip if she said "too much". 100 looks like a fairly stingy tip these days for a FS session, but quite okay For something as simple as real massage with little or no extras. I would prefer not to tip at all rather than look stingy by tipping 100 Baht when mongering. I do give 100 Baht tips in non-mongering circumstances like what you describe or for even far less service on occasions.

I guess I could be wrong, and you were with a girl who is not used to receiving tips at all. Like I have heard that most Japanese do not tip, because it is just not their custom, and may not have changed to Thai customs.

I agree it should be a reasonable amount (if she made a special effort or was extra good) or not at all (if she was not worth repeating). At places like Annies, I feel sympathy for how much the girl gets from and will tip quite well unless she was bad or pathetic, allowing for that I may not be the quickest customer to cum. Reward for good performance, no reward for poor performance. There is no way every session should be paid the same, regardless of the performance put in. That would be stupid IMHO. I prefer to motivate the good girls in any way possible to want me as a regular customer.

While I have not come across any of them Japanese tourists behaving badly, I have seen some being very boisterous. Thanks for the clarification on CH, since you describe several of them being star fishes in bed, I would rather avoid bar fining from here. I have great memories from SW.

I do tip in a mongering situation unless it was a total let down. For a FL / SW it is considered 'taxi money' and many of the oilies are now collecting the house fee (800 B) + service fee (1500 B) up front so a tip at the end of the session is warranted for good service. As for the legit massage shop in question I had been there many times and developed a relationship with the woman. I certainly knew the price, and they certainly knew I knew the price. In fact I remain in touch with the lady in question via email years later.

If you tip excessively in a legit situation it can be deemed showing off; that you have a lot of money, or that the price paid for the service was so small that a large tip is viewed as demeaning the profession of the provider. IMO a tip is recognition of good service and not additional compensation to bring the cost up to where [I]you think[/I] it should have been in the first place.

You can continue to correct me as though you walked those miles in my shoes, but as always YMMV.
