[/QUOTE]I heard same story from Filipina re her friend Filipina nurse sending money to family 25 years ago. Just got gambled away. Never changes. It is assumed that money is very easy to come buy in Farang countries. I know a Thai chef in home country that has to support Mother, sister, grandchildren, and other relatives borrow (to never repay), and that is without gambling problems as far as we know.

Certain girls in the Oilies are supporting bad gambling habits of mothers, brothers, drug habits of pimps, etc. Therefore they cannot realistically get a good guy to take care of them (as a wife) because there has to be a continual supply of money to keep the close relatives out of jail etc. What can a girl do if her mother won't stop gambling or going into debt that cannot be serviced, to get sons out of going to jail etc. Sometimes working girls have to consider discarding bad parts of family to consider their own future.

She kept him up to date on a regular basis as to the progress of construction. Alas when the construction was to be complete he headed back to the island and on the same day his wife was headed to England with her boyfriend.

Hence, you see mostly professional Indians in the clubs, who normally live in Europe. In Pattaya, you get larger number of Indians coming from the home country.

Girls can be shy and clam up at the bar in front of their friends and then turn into LBFM in the room. I also pass on girls the mamasan offers but seem disinterested or forced. I rather play it safe with willing chicks trying to earn a living. Way too many prospects in Thailand for me to burn a 7th round pick on unpolished talent or project. Projects are better for guys who live here and can mold them.

In terms of latest GDP ranking they are 5th in the world with close to 3 trillion $ economy growing at 6% which is higher than UK and all countries in Europe except Germany. But you don't see it in real day to day life because of huge population and unequal distribution of wealth. Crowded cities, slums, pollution, terrible traffic makes visiting India a challenging experience.

So its better to be called cheap charlie and stay in limits than begging on streets just to satisfy your ego.

FYI. You won't find an Indian begging on streets of Thailand. Indians manage their finances well. And always keep reserve.

BTW France's economic growth is at 1.7%. (2018).
