I went into a foot massage place and they convinces me to go back and get a massage for 100, fully clothed, and the old troll still offered a happy ending. This week has turned into a strange drama. I forgot how intense Filipino girls can be. I have one, I met in Macau, sending me SMS messages almost every day. She's back home now and wants me to visit. Meanwhile, Lucy is playing innocent and suggests that next time we just pay up front after each order like we did last time. I agree. I also know that some of the hike in the bill was due to the bartender slipping a few extra drinks into Lucy's glass.

Now I'm thinking, oh great. Here we go. Although the bill isn't insane, I still feel pissed. Then a cool think happens. Similar to what Lucy did the first time I met her, she offers to pay the difference between what I think the bill should be and what it was. But she's clever. Only has 100RMB. Fine. I throw in the extra 20. Her cleverness continues later:

But this time it's 4AM and I really just want to go home. Lucy and I leave. I offer the first taxi to her and tell her I'll take the next one. She insists that I take this one. She wants to make sure I'm heading home safely. Sweet. Just like a good coyote hostess.

So, as I'm riding home in the taxi, I try to make sense of this bizarre little bar. It's kind of like a hostess bar, but not really. It seems you can take, at least some of, the girls home. I don't know the price but the term 1000 came out randomly while we were teasing each other. Sue's not the hottest number but I'd fuck her silly if I had the chance and I think she'd fuck back just as hard. She gives that impression.

In the end, I didn't really uncover any kind of mega tourist scam. The bill issue was relatively minor. Lucy did suddenly switch from drunk to slightly tired to fully awake. She must have the fastest metabolism on the planet. So, roles were being played and I'm sure in a subtle way they were playing me.

The next follow-up will be if I can manage to hook up with Sue. We're now QQ buddies, so let's see what that does. All I know of her is where she's from (Guangxi province) and that she barely knows Shanghai having only been here a month. Oddly enough she didn't even know where Pudong was.

I have to say I get a kick out of your posts - keep them coming ! I'm just back from a week in CP and suffering withdrawal and your happy go-lucky misadventures brings it all back - keep it coming...

This is a great hotel and gf. I got a good price through "elong".

The long street northish of Nanjing Xi Lu is Beijing Xi Lu (北京西路）。

Go for a stroll along BJXL towards the city. There are many footsie places there.

I was there about 15 months ago and found an interesting footsie place (at least, it seems interesting from the outside). Upon putting a damp foot inside, the rostered?, most adventurous? prettiest? young thing quickly showed me the menu. Being in an adventurous (cough) frame of mind, I pointed to the most expensive option (from memory about 120kuai for 80 minutes of back/body massage).

Equally quickly I was escorted upstairs (past the walkway to an adjacent restaurant/café) into what looked like a hotel.

There, I was motioned to have a shower, and that sweet footsie lady would return with her kit in about 5 minutes, which she did.

The massage was excellent and value for money in its own right. Half way through the massage it was easily established that extras, for a price, were on offer. Although she was a little small for me, the opening gambit of 1,000 kuai for an hour at the hotel was countered by my offer of 600. We went round and round a few laps, and eventually she settled for 800. "But many western men give me 1000." We agreed she would come to the hotel after work at midnight.
