I think you should catch the taxi to the Matum casino hotel and book a room for one night. Within a five minute walk you have the monument, restaurants and bars. The hotel has a casino and night club. Girls will be lurking if you so desire. Great eye candy in Santiago. Then hit Sosua fresh the next morning and dive in. The hotel pays for itself if you catch the bus in the morning and not pay the 70 usd taxi fee that night. Not much is going on in Sosua on a Monday night at 1 am. This way you are familiar with Santiago in case you have to fly out and would like to spend a full day there.

If you are not in a hurry hook up with a lady from Santiago. There are plenty of them on cupid. Having some GFE is a great way to start your trip. My experience with Cupid has been very positive. I do the same thing when I go to SD. Most will meet you at the airport if you want.

The street it is on dead ends into Playa Alicia which was nice. I wouldn't call the rooms dated, I think the hotel is fairly new. They are just pretty basic. All in all though the place excellent as far as I was concerned.

I mentioned Pica Flor to make a point that they have probably had a lot to do with some of the hotter chicas on the strip coming up with these crazy prices.

Having said that though, I did have a very good experience there and felt my 150 dollars was well spent.

I'll get into more detail about my observations of the place when I can post the rest of my trip report.

It's not like to Sue where you don't need to know much Spanish. If you rely on a Cupid date hook up it's cool if you have 10 different girls on standby. Olkool is fluent in Spanish. He hasn't had a no-show. Most of us are not so lucky.
And understand that a lot of girls on Cupid are not really interested in meeting you in the flesh. They use Cupid as a second income to prey on gringos sympathy and RQFM. If you only have one day there you are short on time and wasting your time playing the dating game. In less you have established that you are indeed going to have a session. She could be playing nice girl with you. Isn't that right Parkinson! Especially if she says she's looking for a long-term relationship.

I say go where you know what they know and want. Either go to the bars in Santiago where Chicas frequent. Or head straight to the Sue where is all good in the hood.

With that said, many guys think the whole country is like sosua, but that's not the case. When you leave sosua you have to move differently and understand every woman isn't a hoe. Mi dos centavos.
