Actually so shy that I didn't even ask to take her picture, I shot that without her realising.
People who take other persons' pictures without permission and post them on the internet should be severely cudgeled and then thoroughly bastinadoed, and are assholes.
People who take other persons' pictures without permission and post them on the internet should be severely cudgeled and then thoroughly bastinadoed, and are assholes.
You are being too lenient!
You are being too lenient!
You're probably right. So then for those people possibly we should stick a chisel in their ear and bash it with a mallet. Will that work for you?
People who take other persons' pictures without permission and post them on the internet should be severely cudgeled and then thoroughly bastinadoed, and are assholes.
I specifically didn't post a picture of her face. There is no way anyone could identify her from that picture.
At PuntingGeorge,
Nice Report so far. Looking forward to reading the rest. I have a question for you. I normally stay in Hotel Platino when I visit Santiago. I did stay at Matum once but didn't take a woman to my room. I've gotten different answers to this question on other boards, but what is the chica policy at Matum? Did you have to pay extra for your girl or did you make the reservation for 2 with her name on it?
Made a reservation for two people. Only had to put my name on the reservation. When I arrived, they asked us both to write our names down, didn't check her cedula. Saying that we checked in together, which is different to checking in then rocking up an hour later with a chica.
Since you have USD on you, have a motochocho take you to Western Union (if you are in Sosua by now). They (Western Union) have pretty good rates.
If anything, ask other mongers that you bump into to point you to the best ATM location to withdraw pesos.
Good advice, thanks. I'll manage for today but might do that tomorrow.
I specifically didn't post a picture of her face. There is no way anyone could identify her from that picture.
I did. Her name is Rita and she used to be a stripper in El Consulado. Let go for selling weed and not cutting in the management.
My cell phone charger overheated on the plane and won't work now. Any suggestions where I can buy an authentic Samsung or quality third party fast charger in Sosua? Standard chargers don't seem to work with my phone.
That is two different phone problems and you have not even been here 24 hours yet.
Life was better when phones were only used for phone calls and when people met up they conversed instead of burying their faces in their smartphones.
My phone only needs recharging every fourth day, but I cannot play poker against someone in Mongolia. My loss, I suppose.
People who take other persons' pictures without permission and post them on the internet should be severely cudgeled and then thoroughly bastinadoed, and are assholes.
Actually, I regret explaining myself to you. Your handle is quite apt. It's people like you who put off newbies from posting reports. You may be absolutely correct and I may have been bang out of order for posting the pic, face or no face, but would it have been so difficult for you to write "Taking, and certainly posting, pictures without permission is inappropriate. I suggest you email admin to remove it and would advise against doing it again"?
Surely, one of the main objectives of this forum is for newbies to learn, often from their mistakes?! Not to come on here and get a roasting after investing a considerable amount of time posting a trip report.
I feel like I shouldn't post any more reports. Why use up some of the little time I have here to keep people up to date, if my reward is a snarky telling off? But I won't let bullies like you ruin this forum for people who want to share information and support each other.

And his post was obviously light-hearted.
As for me, I am in a bad mood. My back hurts and my soccer team is losing with 10 minutes to play.

My loss, I suppose.
Perhaps it was, but then people were coming down to Sosua blind and all making the same mistakes on their first and second trips. Now, with complicated smart phone comes access to forums such as this, which greatly enhance the experience for newbies such as myself, thanks to you and the path you've trodden ahead of me.
Lighten up, George. We are only jealous, that's all. And his post was obviously light-hearted.
My comment wasn't directed at you. I know you are being light hearted. I actually thought he was too when I read.
cudgeled and bastinadoed
But then he called me an asshole and I decided he's a tosser who should think before posting.
This forum has long carried complaints about established mongers setting the rules and laying into newbies who don't do it their way and ruin Sosua for them etc. It should be busier with trip reports, but as long as Dickhead and his ilk continue to gloss over an entire trip report only to zoom in on my one transgression and call me an asshole for it, that's not going to happen.

I hope you are doing all this posting while seated in the Haitian Consulate (Bar Central) selecting a nice cut of dark meat for the evening.
You misunderstood me. I did not mean you could get infatuated (a. k. a. fall in love), though that is always a possibility, especially for newbies.
I meant I am planning to brainwash you into the exclusive use of haitianas. I guess this Dominican ***** from SD has set back my plans by a few months.
Afraid so, especially when you consider I have a highly recommended Dominican chica arriving in a little over an hour for night two's entertainment. Notwithstanding, I had an excellent time with the Haitians I shagged last time and will certainly do a few more this trip.
There is a small mall where Orange is just down from Baileys, and there was a small store where this guy had a butt load of chargers. Don't know if he is still there, but its worth a try.
Thanks mate. Will check it out.
