The Cambodians, Burmese, Thai-Yai were being used because Thais that want to pay someone 120-150 Baht per day to work long hours serving food, washing the dishes etc., or labouring work, whatever. Thais will not take that sort of money. They cannot really live on that amount of money per day, even to feed just themselves with no one else to support. This happens in many countries, I see it a lot in Europe, where the low paid jobs are all taken by foreigners from very poor countries willing to be paid less than the locals.

The protests, the coup, the drastic drop in tourism has dropped growth rates significantly and there is still talk of a recession.
We've got over 300 employees in our Thailand office and I can assure you none of them are happy campers this year. Retail sales are down, retail accounts are delaying payment of goods, supply chains also being stretch for credit. And the 'government' is basically broke.
But for ISG members, that's not bad news, right? LOL.
