I'm not particularly experienced in the high-end escort side of life in NYC, having only tried it one time out of curiosity. What I found was the high price tag didn't correlate with better quality or better looks. In fact, the provider I had was a past her peak Japanese woman who I'm guessing services older businessmen. Very skilled, but her skin lacked the youthful elasticity that I enjoy. And it was three times the price. As a side note, I only hobby with Asian women, and cannot speak to the Russian or Latina market. If you search carefully, you can find excellent quality for the standard going rate in NYC (approx. 200 USD, but more 220-240 with the advent of GFE Korean houses), which for my standards is an Asian woman (typically Korean) between the ages of 21 and 35, a nice but not superb body, perhaps a 5-8 out of 10 in the looks department, and advanced skills. You'll rarely find a stunner in NYC, although this is of course very subjective. I don't see that market in NYC. Bangkok which they consider an amazing Megalopolis of epic proportions draws them in from all over Thailand, and some of these girls can be quite attractive in a real world non P4P sense. If you are a gentlemen with these girls, and treat them as a non pros despite slipping them money, generally they will respond in kind. Sometimes it can be like you're in a dream when you're fortunate enough to run into some of the fresher less jaded girls, somethinggenerally next to impossible in the west.
For guys who only go to Bangkok once in awhile, NYC may not be that much different. But for high frequency Bangkok visitors, Bangkok is a different world.

I don't wish to quibble with you about buying power, and I'm clearly not an expert in Bangkok after just 4 nights, but comparing what I do in NYC to what I've seen in the gogo's in Soi Cowboy, the Bangkok entertainment dollar is thus far buying me roughly twice what I can buy in NYC. With respect to girls working in the west, or anywhere I imagine, it's YMMV. There are girls in NY for $200-$240 for the hour where both the physical and conversational aspects have been (and hopefully continue to be upon return) GFE and quite satisfying. You have to know where to look and spend a good bit of coin to figure it out, especially if you're going it alone as I have. But once you put together a decent rotation of providers, it's worth the journey.
