This post is not directed at an individual. It is about what happens in groups of people.

Hype is a given factor in everything. There is the well known s- curve that we see in all new technology adaption cycles. It is inherent in the nature of how we communicate. However, it helps to know when the hype is too high, meaning that demand is too high and so is price. This happens in the stock market too, incidentally.

1. So when you see too many reviews of one gal, that is unnatural.

2. And if all of them are gushing, soppy reviews, then you know something is wrong. That is just not normal. Surely, one or two of us should have found her too talkative, or hated her smokers breath or whatever.

3. When a lot of people with little track record start pushing the girl. This is what people call the barbershop index. When your barber, who has no inkling of stock markets, starts recommending a stock, then it is time to sell. No offence to barbers, I am sure some of them are completely clued in to the stock market.

We have seen a lot of these signs together on this forum. Rationality will set in. That is the end of the s- curve.

I know many of us wanted to stop the now-meaningless discussion on Ms. E. However, we continue to see furious justifications and more gushing reviews (saw one in Pune forum). So please cease, desist. Let us get back to real, useful stuff.

Thanks to the two senior members who have helped me.

Initially I thought it was unintentional exaggerated report but looking at the current market news, it seems there is more than meets the eye.
