Word around the campfire...
Hey guys,
Just wondering if there's any other Caribbean or Central / South America destination that compares to Sosua as far as ease and selection and price? I want to return to Sosua, but I would also like to try another location if there is something comparable.
Thanks.
There's a junior version of Sosua called Boca Chica not too far away from SD. You may already be aware of that.
I just booked my January trip 1/23-28 if any fellow mongers will be in the area hit me up.
I live here and will gladly meet up for a beer and give you the low down, I am not a party animal and definitely not a late night person but I have a car and will give you a spin around town and show you where everything is. Where are you staying?

What is the situation in Sosua, as far as restaurants / Comedores and the grocery stores? Do they remain open or they remain shuttered for those days?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts, travelers and the residents in particular.

There will be restaurants & bars open on Christmas night.

Across the street on the corner at the boarded up Bermuda Bar and Cigar there's a brand new "For Rent" sign. Looks like the bar where I first fell in love with Sosua years ago, may re-open soon. With the asking rent $2,000 per month, you'd need to sell quite a few Presidente!
That high tech steel fabricated roof, which covers D'Latin looks like it is ready to be walled in too.
Soon new Sosua could look a little more like the old Sosua?

La Pola and Supermercado Playero might be good places to look for a Christmas cake. I would think the German bakers would be making them. Although the origins of Sosua are in the Jewish diaspora, a group not known for attaching much importance to Christmas. You might find an Italian Christmas cake somewhere, which is much simpler than a fruitcake covered in icing, more like bread, really.

He may still have a German Stollen left for sale. That will do for your Christmas cake.
After three days in Sosua I was getting turned off by a lot of the Chicas in the streets of Sosua. So many of the same faces from a year ago, lots of bubble gum butt chicas that's not my cup of tea, and not much daytime action.
I finally hit pay dirt yesterday morning. I was was walking the streets at 10:30 AM in the morning and encountered a light skinned Chica from Santiago on the corner opposite Playero. Twenty seven years old with a nice body and a cute small ass. There's not a lot of smaller light skinned Chicas in Sosua so I was surprised to encounter this early in the morning. I asked her what she's doing and of course she said nothing so I asked her what she wanted to go with me. The answer was whatever I wanted to pay which I never go for so I told her I would give her 1,000 Pesos. She said let's go and that she would stay with me for as long as I wanted. Well it turns out I had a nasty, tight, and wet Nympho on my hands. Multi orgasmic and true pay dirt! After our session I handed her 1,000 pesos and told her if she wanted to come back in two hours and spend the night I would give her 2,000 pesos in the morning. She showed up right on time, and by 8 AM this morning she had gotten four leches out of me. I'm keeping this one for the next two days or until I run out of leche.
Did she dry you out yet? Any chance you might like to share a name?
