Nice story by Whatsgoingon. Sure brought back memories of my trip to the boonies. With one difference. Gf and I saw the sleeping area: it was bamboo with nothing for cushions and while I could do without the aircon and I had mozzie repellent on hand, I knew I could not sleep on that bamboo so they told us of a resort not too far away. But everything else is spot on, fresh coconut, very fresh chicken, riding on the back of a scooter or motorcycle, using trikes, being the only foreigner around, grungy family KTV's, smiles all around, etc.

Although my GF insisted on me staying at her house I Refused during a visit to her province in Leyte.

This house was not bad because her parents were farmers and owned some land. I had paid fot the Air-Con she had in her room. The house had three rooms and a kitchen. Had a good color TV. The whole neighbourhood was there watching TV when I went there for dinner. Just Chicken and rice. I just ate little bit afraid of getting sick. We did have sex in her room while everybody was watching TV in the next room. It was nice.

We were planning to stay for a week but there is really nothing to do. So we took the ferry and went to Cebu.

Only thing I saw is a big good looking house my GF said belongs to a German guy who married a local girl.

There are some families who are better off than others. The good thing is the whole barangay acts like one big family and readily share everything they have. People are extremely friendly. I saw many really good looking young girls. No wonder why AC mamasans target leyte for their girls.

The best bit about being down on the farm, is getting to ride a caribou. There's nothing as much fun as jumping on the back of one of these great, placid beasts after they have done their days work and lumbering down to the river to wash them off. Which reminds me of when I built my first house in the strifes village. I designed a bungalow but had the flat roof tiled and semi-roofed to make it into a sun lounging / party area. I discovered that I was overlooking the neighbor's outdoor open top washing shed. Now the neighbor was a widow in her late 30's with two teenage daughters who took turns to bathe at the same time every afternoon. Needless to say that I spent many a happy afternoon up on the roof;).

What's behind the willingness of some Filipinas to let their boyfriend "play" with other girls? It seems that some girls just accept that there is an abundance of pussy out there and their man will indulge. Yet others seem to want nothing less than a monogamous relationship.

Actually, that is more the norm than you might think. I've seen it many times.

They know very well in Phi girls are easy to get both working and non-working. If the girl likes you she will not put a shackle on you initially till you get serious with her. She will play along till she hooks you into marrage or sponsorship.

The Dia girl in Manila I met a while ago did not like when I said I will be going to Cebu to meet a girl. She made sure I have several hickeys. The girl I met was asking about it. Since I really did not like the Cebu girl I told her I had a gf in manila. So when I came back to manila the girl asked me so many questions although not in a confrontational way. She knows if she has a confrontration I will kick her out.

I'm not providing food and shelter for any of these girls and I hardly expect them to sit on their gold mine while I am off making money for myself. Some take a don't ask don't tell approach to having other girls. Others seem to be saving themselves for marriage and see the other girls as a way for their boyfriend to get pussy by proxy.

What Sammon said makes a lot of sense because the girls seem to be repressing their natural jealous reaction. Filipino guys have pointed out several times that the girls are always keenly aware of how easily they can be replaced. When a pinoy has a problem with his woman he just leaves her and gets another one fresh off the press unlike Westerners who pay large sums of money to relationship counselors in an attempt to salvage the relationship.

What I never liked was the bucket flushing method when the toilet (toilet =dunny, for Red Kilt) isn't connected to a main water supply. So you do your stuff, then pour a bucket of water down the toilet and hope that last recalcitrant turd makes it down the toilet. Otherwise the entire family watches you go and get a 2ND BUCKET! With that knowing look that says " what, you can't flush with one bucket" and " do you know how long its takes to fill those buckets "

[/QUOTE]Well, I have figured out that they get bored extremely easily hanging out in their nipa huts fending off the amorous overtures of drunken papa, uncles, brothers and cousins. I found out that some of these girls will jump at an opportunity to make some money and escape their squalid dwellings. I keep them busy by putting them to work. So far I am pleasantly surprised at the returns on my investment.
