The post you quoted was saying that the girl would earn a months minimum wages in 3 days. The US equivalent taking $8/ HR would be $1280. That's a rough comparison for what it means locally. The fact that you know what the equivalent buys in the US is the whole point. You have no reference for what something should cost locally otherwise. The point isn't that someone is suggesting anybody has sex for the minimum wage, it's that without reference points like that and some calculating you have no idea if you're being ripped off or offering an insultingly low amount.
