You are right that it had nothing to do with race, and all to do with you only being there as an ATM. I have been told the exact same thing in stores when I have decided not to make a purchase. They will just be a lot polite than mamsan or bar girls. And to be fair, lots of punters try to sit in bars to see girls for hours and buying just couple of drinks. It's loss for bars.

They got angry with him because he did not want anything else. He was not just sitting there for 20 minutes without a drink in front of him and taking up space preventing them from accomodating other customers.

So if you finish your coffee at McDonald's and are getting ready to walk out and they say hey how about an apple pie, and you say no thanks I'm full. Then they loud talk you and say well get the fuck out then. That is more of what happened in his case.

Yes, the end of the year from my experience starting just before Christmas nearly all the GoGos girls not on 10 days contract will not get a day off for two weeks and BF are usually double unless you go to places like Palace, Pin-Up, where their BF is high all year round. They want to sell drinks that are the goal. Places like Soi 6, will double their BF so they don't lose the girl no customer wants to sit in a place with no girls the reason also if you want to take a girl long time any other time the BF is higher.

Sure if this is your holiday expect to pay and enjoy it has been like this forever? One of my regular places BF is 800 last two weeks it is 2000 baht. I buy a few drinks get some cheap feel and say " see you later ".

Imo if you were there for 10 or 15 minutes then the waitress was definitely out of line being rude to you. If you were milking the same 65 baht beer for 30 minutes or an hour then imo you are just seen as a Cheap Charlie taking up space in the bar.

It's the waitresses job to ask you for drinks. Many guys get upset if they are unable to order a beer quickly when their first one is done. You don't need to get a second drink as long as you are buying lady drinks. No bar has every been upset at me for not ordering a second drink because they know I will buy plenty of lady drinks if there are new hot girls or they know my regular girls are somewhere in the bar. I have a regular girl at Ninja and the waitresses / mamasan will even run upstairs to tell her I'm in the bar.

And to be clear, most probably bar girl was rude to the guy, but I have seen way too many rude bar girls or mamsans to take offense from them.

On another point, the bars where I am quite regular, and mamsan and girls knows me, there I can sit for an hour and only order one drink, and they're not going to say anything. Because they know tomorrow I will back and buy few LDs and BF some girl. But if it's my first time at some bar and I'm not going to spend and still sit for a while, then I might attract some hostile behavior towards me.

Clarification.

1) I was not there for more than 10 minutes.

2) It was not at all crowded. In fact, it was more or less empty. I vaguely remember 6 - 7 guys in total.

3) I was going to leave as soon as I finished the beer. The bar staff caught me the second I was done with my beer.

She could not care less if you caught her red handed. She has a job and not going to to honor another punters promise. Her job if you have not figured yet is to fuck as many as possible to make money. She is not married to you and you did not promise anything like taking care of her permanently. So get over it. Never ever assume any girl is devoted to you.

Even among dating girls it is very difficult to keep them waiting for you irrespective of what they say. Once they start fucking casual foreign visitors they have essentially crossed the line. They will keep trying to get new sponsors.
