What do you mean what more was he expecting? So if I walk into McDonald's and comb over the menu and decide to just order a small coffee, they should tell me "Just Go!" after they give me my order?
You are right that it had nothing to do with race, and all to do with you only being there as an ATM. I have been told the exact same thing in stores when I have decided not to make a purchase. They get angry and say just go, as if I am not supposed to have a choice whether to spend my money there even if I do not see anything that I would like to buy.
You can not run a business by acting like you are doing the customer a favor by allowing him to spend his money there, and if he decides not to then you get angry and yell at him. Yeah. What more was that customer expecting?
If a McDonald's / or some cafe is crowded and I have only bought one cheap coffee and people are looking for vacant tables, and I'm still sitting there for a while after finishing it, I am sure staff will ask me if I want to order something, if not then I should leave. They will just be a lot polite than mamsan or bar girls. And to be fair, lots of punters try to sit in bars to see girls for hours and buying just couple of drinks. It's loss for bars.
So I was surprised why the guy got offended after girl said "then go!
