Thank you, yes, the past is gone and we have to make due with what's available now. Where else in the world is there a street of bars where you can easily take girls out for boom boom? Sure, it takes more hunting, but fun can be found here. Even the glory days of the closest competitor, Thailand, are gone. Gone are the days of Rawhide or Sheeba's on Soi Cowboy with stages full of naked 18 year old's.

Anyways, back to present-day Angeles, it's easy to tell the difference between Western bars (Lollipop, La Bamba, Shooters) and K-bars (Bunny, Penguin, Cosplay, Skyfall). At the former the uniform is probably bikinis (although Monsoon and some other bars are moving in the dress direction), energy levels are probably high, girls might look at you and smile and try to get you to call them down, and old music will probably be playing. At K-bars girls are probably wearing dresses or evening gowns, will just be standing on stage or even sitting, and the most contact you get might be a smile. They tend to play more modern music. The Korean owner may be outside welcoming you in. Our pesos are as good as Koreans' so we are welcome in their bars. An annoying trend in these bars is a roaming "DJ" that "sings" and "raps" over the music. "DJ's" have also sat next to me and tried to push me to take a girl.

Perhaps a third category of bars could be considered the big show bars like Dollhouse and XS. There are some pretties in these, but I'm not sure if they are barfin-eable or how the boom boom would be since the girls are considered "models".

I'm pretty happy with my experience so far. Last night I was going to do a barhop but only made it to two bars. I've always had more luck at the bars off Walking Street, so I started at Insomnia at 6 pm. Some cute girls there, and some tall, slim young beauties. Energy was low with girls just standing around. Maybe because it was early in the evening and not many customers.

Camelot had some sort of cute girls, and they were sort of dancing. Moderate number of Asian customers.

Brown Sugar was my final destination. It's an old-fashioned Western-style bar where the girls will work it and try to get you to buy them drinks and take them out. This is either annoying if you're not interested in them, or awesome if you are. It was the latter in this case because a package deal of a a 20-year old local and a 24-year old from Mindanao were flirting with me. I finally found an elusive 20-year-old and a Mindanao girl. They were upfront about wanting to go out and I'm a two-week millionaire, so I paid the astronomical 8,000 barfines and took them back. It wasn't really a three-way since the younger girl was shy and hid in the bathroom, but it was good boom boom with two young girls.

Off the top of my head bars that are very high (mostly 100%) asian punters are, xs club, club sky, avalon bar, QBar, casino bar, atlantis bar, club nana, Hi quality bar, if I'm out with asian clients this is where I take them, the few better looking girls angeles has to offer will be found here, some girls barfine, some are drinks only, many girls will only drink with asians.

Bars that are popular with asians but sometimes see westerners in very small numbers, dollhouse bar, carousel bar, arabesque bar, baccara bar, cosplay bar, skyfalls bar, monsoon bar, can find a diamond in the rough on occasions but they are mostly scooped up by the asians early.

Bars with more westerners than asians but can be quiet on many nights for punters and girl numbers, shooters bar, vikings bar, la bamba bar, lollipop bar, geckos bar, lucifer bar, girls older, fatter, plain janes mainly, but will barfine with westerners.

Manila and Bangkok reached peak raunch in the '80's but AC was a level beyond even that. Clark was the biggest US overseas base in the world and the bar scene was huge, extending around to MacArthur and 1st Street and stretching from Fields down Perimeter all the way to Friendship. I doubt if there's ever been anything else like it anywhere.

When the US left in '91 most people figured the bars would die. But some of them dusted themselves off from Pinatubo and got going again. Then, as you say, it got good again from the mid '90's, though smaller than before.

Now it's shrunken further and the Koreans have taken over most of it. Some people don't want to deal with that, and that's OK. But those of us who've been here for a long time have adapted before and now we're doing it again. You've got to work harder to find good girls but when you do it's as much fun as ever.

I'd consider this a successful trip and I will return. The City.

The Philippines is poor, and the is reflected in this place. The town is run-down, it's inferno-hot outside, and there's nothing to do during the day besides bars, which I'm not into during daytime. Being constantly pestered by the viagra / cialis / vallium / morphine guys annoys me to no end and puts me in a bad mood. Old homeless ladies in sexy dresses try to sell me massages. Trike drivers shout when I walk by. I get into the mode here of looking straight ahead and avoiding eye contact. I'm not interested in constantly engaging with these people.

The Accommodations.

There's not much in the way of nice, modern hotels here. The One Euphoria Airbnb seemed like a good idea. It's nice and modern. However, it's a tiny studio so it feels like a hotel room. Worst of all cleaning is not included and is expensive. It's nice not being forced to leave the room for cleaning, but it's better to have the room cleaned every couple days by a Hotel. The super-fast internet, big screen and Netflix is great. In the future it would be nice to have a little sofa or reading chair instead of just a little desk since I'm sitting around the room all day reading because there's no where better to go.

The Food.

Some people like the food here so more power to them. For me it's terrible. The few restaurants on Fields serve burgers, pizza, pasta, chicken cordon blue (who eats this in real life?

Wienerschnitzel, sausages. It's hard to find vegetables and healthy food. I've had most meal at Envy since the ambiance outside is decent and the food is OK.

Noise-cancelling headphones are a must for me since these places are always playing loud music, even at 8 am.

The Girls.

This is the reason we come and this cancels out all the negatives above. Fields is a very compact, walkable street with girly bars. It's easy-peasy point and click, buy a girl you like a drink, pay her barfine and take her home. Some bars are good and some are bad, bad meaning not having attractive girls. This changes day-by-day and even hour-by hour with shift changes and girls being barfined. To have the best experience you will have to spend time visiting the bars and scoping out girls. No need to get drunk if you don't want to. You can order water or Coke to keep a clearer head and pick more carefully. I did have some bad nights where all the bars I visited didn't have any good talent, or the good ones had already been barfined. But I had more good nights than bad.

It's usually worth sitting down and ordering a drink as long as there are a few girls on stage, even if you are not interested in them. There's usually a second round of dancers after about 20 minutes, and sometimes a hot girl will materialize out of the ether.

Use that time to figure out if you want to boom boom her and ask her if she wants to go out.

I've spent $2,000 USD just in cash over 14 days, but I spent freely since I am on paid vacation.

You're right about the inner parts of the city based around fields there is nothing else to do however there is more in the surrounding areas to burn some time in the day instead of hanging around the hotel. You could take a non pro around if you know any.

- Go karting at Clark speed way. I think there's another somewhere nearby too.

- Aqua planet waterpark.

- Puning hot springs.

- There's a few golf courses, driving ranges and a few places with golf simulators. I met a girl on Tinder who was working as a 'caddy' in a place that was doing video golf / simulator.

- Paradise ranch.

- Various mt pinatubo tours.

- Car rentals.

- goshen resort. Ride atvs.

- Casinos if that's your thing.

- Various parks to walk around.

Many more. Quality and service in some places won't meet Western standards but there's stuff to do instead of staying in the hotel all day.
