Its working, if you check from inside the PH, some ISPs block his site, you need to use a proxy

Surfing thru the PI thread in advance of a trip, I hope, it seems like there are really A LOT of girls. That is to say, several cities dedicated to their trade. Here is the question for the experts who know both:

Compare Greater Bkk to Greater Manila - which has more girls?

I've been to Bkk lots of times and PI only once. But from what I'm reading here, seems like there are 10 times as many philippina's on the game. Maybe it has something to do with the overall population. PI 90 mill vs Thailand 62 mill. Obviously poverty kicks in first of all. Plus the heavy US presence for a really long time.

I think I just answered my own question. Still appreciate the expert answers. j

But Manila is a shit hole. Go somewhere else in PI to monger then MNL. It is a shit hole, overpriced, higher crime. For city wise go to BKK. I prefer to monger in Thai personally but there are benefits to Filipina's and PI. Manila just is not one of the benefits. Unfortunately love it or leave it, Manila is where i work when I am in PI and where I must monger.

First time arrivals to Manila might wonder:

1. Why he immediately got a sore throat on leaving the airport?
2. Why the driver of the supposedly metered taxi he jumped in refuses to turn on his meter, mutters ‘traffic, traffic’ (even though its 2 in the morning) and demands 400 pesos flat fare to go to Makati or Ermita?
3. Why, despite being 2am, it still takes an hour to travel 5 kilometers?
4. Why the guys he spots on the streets have bigger beer guts than his? And some of the women also!
5. Why, when he thought he was in exotic SE Asia, he looks out of the taxi window and sees Lagos, Nigeria with miles of shanty towns and mountains of garbage?
6. Why, when he reaches his hotel, he finds they have lost his reservation?
7. Why the guy on reception, says ‘Sir’ with the same tone and intonation that he would say ‘Asshole’?
8. Why, when he reaches his room, he is being charged 3000 pesos a night for a tired, roach infested fleapit that he would not house his dog in, back home?
9. Why the fuck did he come here in the first place?

And then he visits Burgos/EDSA Complex/LA Café and remembers why;).

Why only first time arrivals? I go through that list and more atleast 12 times a year but you leave out the drug and bomb sniffing dogs, the metal detectors you need to go through to get into the lobby of your hotel, and the close personal pat downs the security staff tries to give to every girl I bring back to the room before I even get to pat them down :D

Why the hell do the cute female security guards never pat me down? I avoid going to the mens line and approach the ladies (if they are cute), smile nicely, spread wide and they just giggle and say "it's ok sir..." My all time favorite is when places hire gay security guards. One of the funniest things I ever saw was late at night going back to the rooms with a guy who has never been to PI before, he got molested / rapped / HJ by an obviously gay guard.

I'm such a good wing man (ok bastard) I just turned and walked away while dying laughing as the guard had his hand on my friends dick. Is there any better way to initiate a newbie to life in MNL?

Gay security patter down? Never come across one of them before. Somebody’s got a malicious sense of humour. Wonder if he works for (pea)nuts?

Mind you the female security guard at my local SM is an awful big, butch looking bruiser. She has the enviable job of patting down those lovely SM check-out girls who with their tightly pulled back black hair, thick makeup and skimpy one piece dresses look like little Filipina versions of Robert Palmer’s back-up band on the single ‘Addicted to Love’. Whooorrrr – bet she gets loads of job satisfaction.

I wonder if anyone could maybe give me some up to date recommendations about flying out of Manila to other parts if the islands (Clark, Davao, Cebu). My flight arrives in Manila mid-evening; but Manila, and getting out by surface, sounds perhaps distinctly missable if at all possible (compared to other places) on a shortish trip. I've looked at the online live flight departures board for Manila but at least one airline disappears into thin air when I search for it (Stryian Airways) and another (Tiger) is offputting because of its frequent flight cancellations. The overland trip to Clark sounds unappealing. Thanks.

It sounds like you want to skip MNL, but you might be better off staying one night if you are arriving at night.

MNL to AC (Clark) by taxi is the best option -- probably costs about 2000 pesos now. I use "Fly the Bus" -- see url below. The last run is 8pm. I can't imagine flying into clark from MNL, but Cebu to Clark makes sense. I also suspect you could get a late flight MNL to Cebu or elsewhere.

Domestic flights are cheap and usually convenient. Any travel agent will be happy to make arrangements. I've usually been able to arrange a flight withing a day or two...sometimes same day.

My info is not necessarily new but, I can't imagine the PI changing much. There's two airports in Manilla. Riding a cab or bus to AC from Manila airport takes a couple hours. Its neither harrowing nor completely boring but not "unappealing" either. Arriving at AC makes you forget the cab ride quickly. However, going through customs at the airport then going back into the airport or transferring to the other airport and waiting for a flight then arriving at yet another airport is not pomp either. You have allot of posts (and I will read none of them), I assume you are not a rookie. If you want to get out, go to Cebu, go down to dock 8? and take the fast cats to other islands. Again, its been awhile since I've been to the PI but, it will never change. I'm not sure of your references or goals, however. To me, AC is stop #1 in the PI.
