Hotel: I stayed in cheap places off MacArthur Highway, near Johnnys Supermarket and in Balibago. Very cheap, about $300 a month. I'm in my late thirties, and admittedly, I have problems with performance sometimes. I have a very hard time finishing when I'm wearing a condom, even with the assistance of Viagra. Stress is also a major factor. I have zero performance issues when I'm with a girlfriend, but I get nervous with hookers, and have trouble.

A LT was traditionally overnight. Occasionally it was also into the next afternoon but that's rare now. Again, a clockwatcher will nominate 4 hours or at least a departure time in the morning.

If you walk away from Fields past Johnnys, there is a quiet tree lined road to the right opposite the gym on MacArthur. You can get rooms there for between 8000 HP-15000 PHP a month. Mosquitoes at evening can be a major problem.

There is a medical centre just past Johnnys, around the corner opposite some cheap eateries (fried pork and rice). Not haute cuisine but it does the job.

Across MacArthur, there is a square with some dentists and the City Hall I think. Hotel beside it had some suspiciously young looking women and their Pinoy boyfriends. Some hotels, like the British run Hotel Fenson are no longer with us because of Covid and the same applies to decent eateries. Same story up the other end at that Vets place where the mad Yank, Pampanga's answer to Basil Fawlty, has moved his cheap place a block or two.

The trike driver stand in Mountain View is worth a walk. They have their own little community. I asked them how long have they to wait in line before a fare. About 40 minutes, They have their own little karaoke joint and they cook up a very dubious curry in a very big pot. My days of dining on such fare are, thankfully, long gone. Spoke to the jeepney drivers too, hard job and the government is screwing them over the global warming scam, two million PHP a piece and a life of debt.

On the youth topic, I noticed, on Fields, a network between ladyboy hookers and underage women / girls selling peanuts and the like. Not saying the youngsters were hooking but, even from thousands of miles away, I can smell that trap.

Outside of Phillies is an anthropologists' wet dream. Hookers of all genders and ages (the Ancient Mariner's wife will short time for 400 PHP), and various networks, hierarchies and so on.

Somewhat like pigeons, they regularly retreat to the bench opposite Phillies, realign their feathers and then return to hook a little more. Anthropologically fascinating but a tinge of danger too.

The same, in general goes for what passes for the roads and sidewalks. There must be fortunes to be made there fixing sprained ankles and the trikes, fumes and motorbikes remind me of the mass civilian retreats of World War 2.

Lots of openings for dentists with them as many of them are short a half set of teeth or more. Some of the young girls I saw at food stalls had black, rotten teeth. Not good.

Though self cooking would make sense for an extended stay and though some cheap Charlies do it, sometimes with the cheapest of food, a holiday should be a holiday which, for me, means no kitchen or similar duties. For those into cooking, the fish to be had downtown at the market look great (still alive and jumping and in need of a mallet to the head) and would be really up my street were I to cook on holiday. Same goes for the fruit and veg.

The converse of that is sloth, my life long friend. And the danger of sloth is ending up in Fields in the morning sipping coffee or a beer and staring into space as dementia starts to kick in.

I am afraid of that and the retirees I see drinking industrial levels of beer as they stare into space. There is some Yankee duty free place (members only) you can trike bike to and folk buy Western beers in serious drinking amounts, allowances of multiple litres a day. Sane goes for cigarettes.

The danger of eating Western food is putting on the pounds and extra chins and bellies.

I am monitoring plane prices now and might do a MacArthur and return. But that brings me to the price per bonk for senior citizens (sadly, no discounts on that from Pampanga's finest).

I guess, looking back on the examples I previously cited, the women size us up and cut their cloth accordingly. The young ones think I will get this fool's money and scarper and the older ones figure they will hang in close and be daddy's paid teddy bear for as long as the money lasts.

This daddy is not looking for a wife in Angeles, though I have met several on that fool's errand. I did mention my age (three score and ten) and I am fit enough for that age, though Robert F Kennedy Junior would easily beat me in MMA.

Walking through Fields where I like to keep a low profile, I have marvelled at seeing much older guys and in much worse condition than me. Whilst keeping a poker face, I have wondered how they could do "it" or much else besides with the dollies accompanying them. Not being judgmental, just being observant.

Though I get the advice to take beach trips etc, we can all agree we don't go to Angeles for its beaches or art galleries. Or indeed its food or shopping, though I usually buy useless electronic crap I don't need, as well as underwear and t shirts. Though one saves on their cheap labour, the various taxes cancel all that.

As regards Viagra / Kamagra which even the hotels sell. Leaving the health issues to one side, I feel now it is like cheating, a way to drill a business partner helpless. But maybe that is work for younger men (and those older studs I saw on Fields).
