Pink, I speak Thai fairly well after 15 years as a resident of BKK. I think on issue with residency is the longer you are here the less BS you are willing to put up with. I don't take gal to my room and so showing them a video is not an option. And truth be told I have very little want to hang out and talk with a working girl. I just want a nice 90 min, two shot, PSE encounter, and then I want to be on my merry way. And I never want a girl to do anything she is uncomfortable with. If she does not want to do something I don't get upset. I just get up, put my clothes on, leave a small tip (as I do negotiate what I want before hand), and I am out of there. Of course since I really don't take FLs unless I know them or they are vouched for these days, I don't have this issues so much.
Take gal to "your room" to see a porn clip? Why? News flash, it's 2014 not 1995 now. Almost everyone has a mobile device, including working girls.
I assume you are in a room when you have sex with a hooker. Unless you like to do it out in public somewhere.
It has been my experience that nearly every Thai bar girl has either a Thai BF or a Thai Tom or are simply between them.
Your sample bar may be unrepresentative.
I find little point in generalising or trying to say they are all the same. Every individual has varying circumstances. There are definitely bargirls smart enough to not have a Thai BF. Girls that go away with customer for one or 2 week stretches are unlikely to have a Thai BF.
It maybe that the majority of Bargirls have a Thai BF. Its wise to be aware its a strong possibility. There is no need to try to be sure in each and every case. I have never tried to have a GF that came from a bar, so its not so important. I too have known bargirls that were fairly open and one girl showed me pictures of her Tom, who was in another province and did not supposedly know her GF was a part time bargirl, nor fucking guys. LOL. There is plenty of gossip about other girls' BFs or Toms too.
I know of bargirls that left bar to go live with a Farang living in Thailand 24/7. Probably does not have Thai boy on the side, but cannot be sure. Not wise to trust any bargirl completely. Plenty of deception.
Some bargirls left bar and went to live in a foreign country with Farang husband. Would not be possible to take a Thai BF with them in the suitcase. LOL.
Stayed a couple of days recently at the Ruahmchitt hotel in Bangkok.
Was lacy so just went down to Thermae for pick-ups. Hard to come below 3000 Bath.
Age was also hard to find in lower twenties.
Is there other places like Thermae in Bangkok packed with freelancers but cheaper and if possible 20?
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Or how does it works if you find a bar girl / gogo girl with a number batch. Do they offer ST or LT hotel services.
No. The Freelance scene in Bangkok has gotten horrible over the past 3-4 years. Not really sure why but there are a bunch of possible reasons. The vast majority of them are older and more expensive and less friendly than those of only a few years ago. Gullivers. Numbers are way down, generally in their late 20's and go for 2-3 k, sometimes ask for more. Beer Garden. Basically a retirement home for old working girls. Bangkok Beat, again nearly all are from 25-35 and not great, ask for 2-3 k. Sukhumvit on the street, stay far away, mainly Africans at night and the girls in the day time should have an expiration date stamped on their foreheads. Nana Parking Lot, the numbers are drastically lower than a few years back due to police raids, every now and then you can find a young cute one but your timing has to be impeccable. Lots of Ladyboys as well. Climax Disco, mainly in the 25+ category but sometimes younger. Ask for 3 k but may take less. A service girl there told me it closes at 2 am now and doesn't really get started till midnight, so a small window of opportunity. For years I never bothered with gogo girls and stuck strictly to freelancers but over the past 2 years I have had no choice but to go to gogos. Heck, they are with barfine included cheaper than girls at the Thermae who are asking for 3 k and you get to see how they look. People have to be nuts to be giving Fls 3000 baht for short time but apparently they are.
As to your second question I am not sure I understand, in gogos and beer bars any one with a badge is available always for short time and sometimes for long time. They will go to your hotel with you unless they insist on a nearby short time hotel which is becoming more common. Or in some cases I have heard of lately in the RB bars they will charge you 500 baht more to go to your hotel rather than a st hotel. Its all getting crazy and will continue to do so I expect.

When was yours?
Should have an expiration date stamped on their foreheads.
If you're even in Singapore you'll find lots of young Thai (and Lao, Viet, etc.) girls working there. Easy visas and cheap airfares, plus substantially better money for them has probably convinced a lot to ply their trade there instead.
Can't really blame them. Well, this is my theory behind an apparent lack of talent in BKK. I'd also say that a much higher standard of living for younger, more educated girls earning better salaries than 10 20 years ago has probably taken a lot out of the game.
I hope its not like girls saying they can only work there if their partner, also gets to stay there, or have a paid position. Anyway I don't like loads of Thai boys hanging around sex shops. It just gives a bad impression of the girls. We are better off not knowing their personal arrangements.
I was told by the owner of a bar in Soi 7/1 that the Dr. Nura (? I can't remember the name) bar on the left is mainly for show and it's more for money laundering than mongering, although that goes on as well. It's one of the few bars where you do see lots of Thai boys hanging around. Not sure how much truth there is to this but it's a big place and doesn't seem to have that many customers from what I've seen the few times I've drunk down that way.

Its not a bar as such even if getting a drink is possible. Associated with Dr BJ blowjob shop and Annies Massage. I imagine that owner of Annies is probably at least the majority owner or more. Several ex-Annies girls work there. Perhaps you talk about something else. Your story seems slightly garbled.
I have been a customer several times and nothing strange about it other than more Thai boys hanging around than desirable. They can't all be useful. The girls do seem to get customers. No reason why not. There is a shortage of shops providing a good body slide "massage" in Bangkok.
There are number of bars and massage shops and many do not look that busy with a brief passing by regularly. E. g. Plame Massage. Has lady boys and ugly girls sitting out the front. Never saw them actually get a customer, but it doesn't mean they don't. The girls at Bai Fern body massage shop definitely look a hell of a lot better. Obviously there is also Eden, Magic Tables, and a few other businesses I can't remember the names of.
Its quite possible there are businesses in Thailand that don't actually need to make money in reality, and for money laundering. The Arab's Coyote bars in Soi Cowboy seem to be a great example, as don't ever seem to have enough business to pay all those Coyote girls and there are lots.

Arrive around dusk and patiently hang out at one of the bars overlooking the NPL. Watch them arrive via taxi and moto and be prepared to act quickly. The LB's are generally across the street on the Nana Plaza side but their number do increase as the night progresses.
It also helps to be able to make multiple passes through at different times, so staying near ground zero assists in the NPL hunt. The ladies also prefer customers staying in the area as time is money for them.

Last year was opened as a sort of biker bar (Hot Pistons or something like).
In September there have been works going on to open a new bar there, Paradise.
I attach some pictures of the front.
Funny enough it says "opening 19th September" but the pictures were taken on the 27th!
After the 19th there was what looked a soft opening, but then closed then seems opened, but no punters.

I think that if you really want to do some serious money laundering a bar or naughty massage shop is the last thing that comes into your mind. Not only is the amount of money you can channel through it too small to bother, the various overheads (such as contributions to the local constabulary's tea money fund; maintaining all that useless staff; . . .) will eat into your bottom line, making the whole operation rather inefficient.
I think one can safely say that this is one of the urban legends.
I may get around with my head stuck up my arse, but after 10's of trips to Bangkok and years of reviewing these Thailand forums, this is the first reference to the dreaded weed I have seen on this forum. In my visits I've certainly never been offered any, and would be unlikely to trust a Thai to get me some 420 action in any event.
If this story is true, this bloke must have some guts. If there was one thing I wouldn't do in Thailand, it would be involving one's self in drugs. And I'm no prude by anyone's standards, trust me.
Like everything in life, one does a risk assessment. You choose your mark. I know several punters who indulge, and ladies too. Full moon parties (not my generation) are legendary for the menu on offer.
The guys doing long time in jail here try to smuggle shit in or out by the kilo. That's suicide.
If you were unlucky enough to get nailed for a smoke, a reefer is likely to cost you a relatively expensive bribe, and you're walking away. Have you ever seen anyone, Thai or Farang, paraded before the cameras with a single blunt on the desk of shame? Me neither.
If you think about it, the girls really want as little to do with the cops as possible, extrapolate that to your home country and the same rules of disengagement apply, for universal reasons, no one is turning you in for a quick puff, it implicates them, plus for all the girl knows, you could be one evil sumbitch, and arrange a little 'snitch payback' from inside, thus for a piddly smoke or a few shards, no one would risk it, the cops would not 'reward' them either, especially here, that's just ludicrous.
Much worse shit is rife here, and we all know that. In December of last year the Viagra stalls were selling rather crappy leaf on Sukhumvit, you just needed to look for the famed five fingered leaf motif either as a decal or a drawing, at those particular stalls, and you could get a compressed large 'oxo' cube for about THB200 bargaining hard.
Someone using a 'vicks' inhaler on the same street or in a club / bar is signalling they are marketing or looking for nose candy, which is likely to be meth rather than charlie. Naturally, now you're getting into heavy territory, but yeah, shit and the means to get it is everywhere, most of the girls are well up for it too, and if they aren't, just move on, so long as you are not dumb enough to be carrying in public, chances of being busted are no greater than elsewhere, and maybe even less. This is not news, actually it is, people (anonymous young recreational user Thais) have told no less than the Bangkok Post about the 'vicks' thing. That's how I know about it. Glass meth pipes and bongs can be found along Sukhumvit as well, what are they for, tourist souvenirs? Clearly there is a reasonable market, or they would not go to the trouble.
No doubt there will be outraged howls from blokes who are not willing to take the risk, or who always just say 'no' so be it. Strokes for folks. It's out there and it's not going away no matter how may people they hang, and lock up. One day they'll figure out there's more money to be made by taxing it like nicotine, instead of letting the cartels make trillions forever.
